50HR YOGA & MOVEMENT FOUNDATIONS TRAINING
July 18th & 19th
July 25th & 26th

15+ years ago, I signed up for a Yoga Instructor Training.
At the time, it felt like dipping a toe into a river, not the whole dive, just enough to see where it might carry me. 

I was working at a retail store, teaching fitness classes on the side to help a friend out, and that little training gave me the tools to guide pranayama, meditation, and hatha for athletes, retail staff, university students, even people working backstage at concerts and festivals.

It wasn’t the mega mega leap of a 200-hour. 
Honestly, when I look back. I wasn’t ready. I saw yoga differently. A few years later, I even stepped away from yoga altogether, completely forgot about it {I got into graph design}. Before I found my way back the year I had my little one {Thank you commercials!!!}.

But that first training? It planted something. It gave me the confidence to keep learning, and spark to keep learning, I think, gave the foundation that would eventually lead me toward the path I’m on now.

Ths 50-Hour Yoga & Movement Teacher Training is for the curious, the almost-ready, the practitioner, the person who wants to understand the why behind the breath, the history an the movement. It’s for current teachers craving in-person experience and a refresh. For fitness teachers wanting to add more to their knowledge and for anyone who just wants to start…without needing to do it all at once.

Because beginnings matter. And I ain’t got time for inaccessible s**z. Also, the smallest step can be the one that changes everythannnnnnnnng non?

I’m teaming up with the good folks .fitness for a Foundation Mat Pilates Teacher Training that takes a look at the barriers around practicing and teaching and provides support you with the skills to not only teach, but to continue being curious and see things outside of only instruction.

3 in person weekends in May + 20 required teaching hours + Practice Hours + Exam.

PICTON NICE MOVES!!

What a set of weekends. From laughter, learning, unlearning, exploring, growing and exploring. To foot surgery, {thank you 🥰🥰}

This training was fun and different from the previous one. Different questions, perspectives, dance moves and yet very similar in connection, care and understanding.

Thank you for having me. Your space is gorgeous and honestly it’s the reflection of the amazing people who are gorgeous from the inside out.

Can’t wait to be back and visit all these lovely spots again, but more so to see this group of people and laugh with them again.

COMMUNITY REPAIR THINKTANK {long caption}

I’m still unlearning this in my own spaces, friendships, places, automobiles, trains and not airplanes {because them tickets be $$$}.
And I think more of us need to admit that out loud. 🤷🏾‍♀️

That’s another conversation for another day though. So, Slide 1 taught me this: the problem is rarely malice. It’s assumption. The assumption that welcome is universal.

If you run a wellness spot, really if you run anything, absolutely anything. I want you to sit with slide 5 & 6 for a while. That one still catches me because I definitely catch myself slipping at times and have to pull myself back into that DAFUQ was I thinking brain.

Do you have some suggestions to the phrases above? {I’ll pin one in the comments}

How would you change these statements so they’re actually true?
Also what are people silently adjusting about themselves to stay in your space?

Thank you for having me in last week to chat about pathways and footsteps towards inclusive teaching that goes beyond a picture on the wall, a hidden conversation, a yes and for sure. We explored, what we are seeing and how the conversation needs to be practiced in the same amount of vigour we tell people to practice yoga, fitness and beyond. Yoga is on the streets, if you take the time to listen.
