Our CPR-C & AED course teaches the life-saving skills needed to recognize and respond to cardiac emergencies and choking.

At 13 First Aid, we teach CPR Level C. Why? Because Level C prepares you to help anyone: adults, children, and infants. No matter where you are or who needs help, you’ll have the skills to step in with confidence.

In this course, you’ll learn the latest CPR guidelines and how to safely use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED), a critical tool that can help restart the heart during sudden cardiac arrest.

You'll learn how to respond to:
• Cardiac arrest
• Choking emergencies
• Heart attack and stroke
• Deadly bleeding
• And other common medical emergencies

You’ll also learn the Check, Call, Care approach, how to place someone in the recovery position, and how to respond to emergencies until help arrives.

‼️This course is great for workplaces that require CPR certification only. If your workplace requires Standard First Aid, you'll need our Standard First Aid, CPR & AED course instead‼️

Environment Canada has issued a Special Weather Statement for Renfrew County.

❄️ What to expect:
• Snowfall totals of 5–12 cm
• Reduced visibility in heavier snow
• Risk of freezing rain or freezing drizzle

🕒 Timing:
Late this afternoon through Sunday morning

🌨️ Details:
An Alberta Clipper will move through the region, bringing snow this evening. Snow may mix with freezing rain or freezing drizzle overnight before tapering off Sunday morning.

🚗 Travel impacts:
Roads and walkways may become snow‑covered, icy, and slippery—especially untreated surfaces. Motorists are encouraged to slow down and allow extra travel time.

Stay safe and monitor conditions as the system moves through.

It’s been a busy (and rewarding!) couple of days at 13 First Aid & Safety Training 🙌

We’ve had the pleasure of running public first aid courses along with two Babysitter’s Courses, thanks to our amazing community partners at the Renfrew Parks and Recreation and the Carleton Place Public Library. Because of their support, more adults, youth, and children are feeling confident, prepared, and empowered to help when it matters most ❤️

These organizations go above and beyond, not just during March Break, but all year long, offering valuable workshops, engaging activities, and opportunities for learning within the community.
