Putting the Summer Schedule together today ...

*I have confirmed with my amazing Lymphatic Massage Therapist Carrie that she and I will be hosting the first evening in my Women's Wellness Series on Monday June 29th from 6:30-8:30pm $75pp limited to 25 guests ... everything you need to know about lymphatic wellness from Carrie with hands on demonstrations, swag bags, raffle draws and so much more!
*The Donkey's and I have decided they will be running 3 youth evenings this summer ... 2 Art in the Yard and 1 Grooming Ritual, these events will be limited to 8 participants (1 parent/guardian per participant must be in attendance) ages 8-12. Evenings run 5:30-7:00pm and cost is $25/youth

*The Herd is excited for Round Pen Yoga with 3 dates for Rituals celebrating Summer Solstice, Full Moon, and Fall Equinox. This event offers a full yoga practice in the Round Pen with the horses nearby, tea, treats, and ceremonial materials provided limited to 15 people, $20pp

* Witching You Well is back in the Gardens, diving into Intuition and Oracle Cards and a brand New offering 'Introduction to Poppets' where we will be creating our own Poppets with materials from the Herd and the Land here At hOMe! This is perhaps one of my favourite ways to share the Land and break out my grandmothers tea cups 🔮

Well hello there Saturday ... Sunshine and a day At hOMe!
Hay pick up and hopefully a little garden rototilling to get those first rows of peas in the soil! The hope that is Spring is taking hold, the horses are shedding and dare I say the mud is kinda sorta less than it was yesterday (without looking at the forecast ahead I can enjoy this day!)
If looking ahead spoils the joy the message from the Herd today is; don't look ahead! Obviously I can't control the weather so letting it rob me of todays joy would be silly ... what are you letting control you? Where can you let go and just be ... let that be your focus today ... get out and enjoy that sunshine!

These are the Moments 🔮
Every class that I run here At hOMe is curated, there is real thought put into whose coming, the energy I hope to bring and the message I want them all to go home pondering ... nothing happens by accident; I live my life and run my business On Purpose!
At the end of my classes there is Savasana ... always; and it is never cut short, it is honoured and as my students find rest and release; I fill my cup with watching them surrender to simply being. I am always grateful to have been of service on their journey to wellness!
There is something wildly transformative to the human about being held and fully supported in a hammock savasana.

Stay Curious ...
I say this a lot, and if you spend time in studio with me you've also heard me say 'you don't know what you don't know!' If you are stuck in routine, if you feel like you're running on autopilot and the joy has been sucked out of your life ... this is for you!
These words aren't nifty slogans meant to patronize you; they are a heartfelt invitation for you to look beyond what you know and explore something new!
Try a new food, sign up for a class that you 'think' isn't for you (trust me if you've looked at my class line up and feel like it's not for you I would love the opportunity to expand your beliefs!) take a new route on your drive to work, hold your toothbrush in your nondominant hand ... change something, anything ... and take note of how it makes you feel!
I am working through some big changes in my own life as I move into a new era of being; I'm no longer interested in doing things that don't bring me joy, and there are pieces of what I want to share that I have let simmer on the back burner but I'm turning up the heat!
There are a few brand new offerings coming in the next few months, ones that will open up a whole new way of showing up for me; I'm staying curious and betting that I'm not alone in wanting community and fresh conversations about women's health and wellness!

I lovingly refer to my TRX Yoga class as Movement as Medicine and most recently Move, Resist, Release … the reality is the TRX is one small piece of this class and I haven’t yet found the words to fully articulate this experience of learning how to comfortably be in your body ... but here's a start!
I am a total geek about how our bodies move and what keeps them well; I've been in my own body for 60 years plus I have been supporting other women in theirs for 20+ years!
I have a lot of experience (and so many trainings) to create classes from! So, here’s a few things you need to know about what this class actually offers your body, because all of my trainings are utilized in this class – breathwork, yoga in all it’s forms, personal training, dynamic stretching, body weight resistance training, trainings with the foot collective and foam rolling!
Movement is how our lymphatic system is pumped, through gentle yoga, low impact cardio muscles contract and move lymph fluid … our heart has it’s own powerful pump to get blood through the body, our lymphatic system relies on movement, deep breathing and manual stimulation to pump toxins out of our body!
Resistance training like the TRX system support the building of muscle, improves bone density, increases metabolism and is so beneficial to your mental health! Aging with good balance through core strength reduces risk of falls and protects the integrity of the spine … mobility and flexibility through resistance training on the TRX is great ‘active living insurance’ for all ages!
Release … perhaps my favourite way to end a class is to fall fully into relax! This class uses a variety of tools to invite the body to release stress and tension while creating a space of alignment, it’s amazing what you can do with some yoga blocks, tune up balls, straps and bolsters!
The key I believe to feeling good in our bodies; is recognizing that there is NO ONE thing that makes it so! Our bodies are intricate layers of magic that all require their own tending; but it all responds to connection … you can’t just eat well, or just do cardio, you can’t just release without strengthening, there is a balance that only you can assess and this class offers you practical tools to do at home as you build your relationship with your body!
We move and sweat, we breathe and rest, it’s all about getting into right relation with our bodies, building connection with what we need and offering it to ourselves!

What is Wellness to you?
What topics would you like covered?

This is happening, I have my own ideas about what I would like to see available, but I really hope you'll offer your own thoughts!

The goal is to put a spotlight on what is available locally and offer information that participants will take home and implement to improve their lives!
I have been to Women's Expos and been sorely disappointed by the offerings of kitchen wares & toxic antiaging products ... this isn't my idea of wellness or empowerment ... but what is yours?

from mud to blizzard in 24 hours or less ... this is the yoga my friends, flowing and adjusting to what life offers with grace!
We don't practice for fitness... we practice for self awareness and in that state we can cultivate resilience ... emotional and physical that will support us in navigating our lives with less drama and a calmer more peaceful nervous system 💛 through whatever life throws at us!
Life is happening at an unrealistic rate of wtf's per minute ... there are wildly beautiful things happening and there are as many, or more horrific things happening globally ... let's shut that all off for an hour.
Let's narrow our focus to what's happening with our breath,
in our body,
on our mat,
at class,
in our community ... there is joy there, there is contentment and peace there - let yourself feel that, remember that and find comfort in that!

In an effort to support the horses actually getting to eat their hay I picked up a hay net; the thought process being if it were up and contained; 2/3's of it wouldn't be trounced into the mud and it would actually get eaten!
Jake was our first candidate (victim!) and as you can see he clearly had no clue what he was supposed to do with it ... I have every confidence he will figure it out, but in the meanwhile the waste will be cut back and the consumption rate will increase ... fingers crossed!
On the other side of the yard Binx was looking to connect with the Bees ... thinking this isn't going to end well for him!
The chickens are experiencing 'free range' for the first time as they were too wee last year; didn't take them long to get moving around the property ... the crows are keeping an eye on them which I am grateful for!
Did you know that when crows claim your property they guard the airways over it? We have watched them gang up on and chase owls, hawks and even an eagle last summer off of our property! I love that we have created a relationship with the Crows here At hOMe!
I'm working on a few new retreats for this Summer ... a Full Day immersion into being 'At hOMe with Jo'! Would you join me?

How we move, what we eat and how we feel about it all, is the essence of our overall wellness; most people have no idea how good their bodies can actually feel!
