🎄🎀 December Happenings in our Home!

Events/Programs:

• Saturday December 6th 7PM start- Athens Christmas Parade! Arrive to the rink for 6PM and look for the MVL bus/float and join in on the parade fun! Bring a Santa Hat to wear and your smile- let’s show everyone how much fun we have at Maple View Lodge! Residents will be joining us on an outing for this local community event.

• Wednesday December 10th 1:30PM “Jingle & Mingle” - Resident Christmas Parties on both Brookside and Meadowview in the common areas. MVL Staff & Families- Join MVL residents for appetizers, live Christmas music, beverages and a surprise visit from a special someone!

• Friday December 19th 1:30PM in the Meadowview Activity Room- Volunteer Appreciation Christmas Tea. Volunteers please RSVP by December 5th to Administration.

Community Initiatives:

• Our MVL Angel Tree will return this year at the main entrance and will be ready to go as of Dec 1st- please spread the word! All gifts/angels must be returned by December 21st. This initiative ensures every resident gets a gift on Christmas morning.

• MVL Community Christmas Cards- The MVL Resident Council is selling custom designed Christmas cards by the local Athens Highschool Students, painted by our very own MVL Residents. A bundle of 4 cards is $20. All proceeds go to the local SPCA as per the Resident Council’s wishes. Please spread the word and consider supporting our Resident Council and the SPCA. Please speak with Administration if you are interested in purchasing a bundle of cards- cash only. Cards will be ready for sale as of Dec 1st.

• We continue our Give Back BINGO program throughout the month of December. Please consider donating non perishable food items if you can. The donation box is located at our main entrance. All proceeds will go to the local Athens Foodbank.

As a rural home, we have many former hunters and as a result our Annual Deer Hunting program is always a highlight!

This program is also a great opportunity to bring up our Christmas trees in readiness to decorate the home for the holiday season.

This year an MVL PSW who has a love for hunting donated her orange vests and hats to support our MVL hunters in getting into the sport and spirit of hunting- Thank you Sydney!
