We are so grateful for our students from Athens District High School - UCDSB and this on-going collaboration.

We hope to inspire local students to pursue careers in Long Term Care! 💓

Thanks to Maple View Lodge for recognizing Kody during your volunteer appreciation posts. Cooperative Education opportunities provide rewarding, experiential education opportunities for our students. We are so grateful to Maple View for being such a wonderful placement opportunity for students in both resident services and nursing.

We celebrated our MVL Volunteers this afternoon reflecting on memories over the years and enjoyed cake, drinks and live music by Bryan Cooper. An MVL resident even wrote a special poem for the Volunteers and we want to share it with you here:

A day of thanks, a happy sound,
For volunteers, all around.
At Mapleview, your hearts are bright,
You bring us joy, with all your might.

To nurses, PSWs, and staff so kind,
The best of help, we always find.
For residents, and for me,
Your smiles and care, set spirits free.

We thank you all, for what you do,
Your gentle hands, see us through.

Meet Mary!

Mary is a very dedicated MVL Volunteer of 4 years.

As a former Nurse, Mary is an asset to our Volunteer team supporting feeding and resident care on a weekly basis with kindness and compassion.

We had some very special visitors this morning from the local Heritage Community Christian School! Students and residents connected over Spring colouring and various building blocks.

We are very excited about this new connection which further enhances the frequency of our intergenerational programming.

We cannot wait to welcome back the Heritage Community Christian School students in May!

📣G Tackaberry and Family Home Update! 🎉

𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗮 𝗥𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲 | 𝗙𝘂𝗿𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗨𝗽𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗚. 𝗧𝗮𝗰𝗸𝗮𝗯𝗲𝗿𝗿𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗙𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗹𝘆 𝗟𝗼𝗻𝗴-𝗧𝗲𝗿𝗺 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗛𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗔𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗻𝘀

The United Counties of Leeds and Grenville is providing an updated status on the G. Tackaberry and Family Long‑Term Care Home following a report presented to Committee of the Whole on April 8, 2026.

Although construction of the home is mostly complete and staff have been working inside the building since November 2025, the home is not yet open to residents. Some final construction items need to be completed, and the home must receive provincial approval before residents can move in.

MVL resident Joyce picked right back up where she left off partaking in a hobby she enjoys through our knitting club program.

Recreational programming should reflect the unique interests and values of the resident population to ensure meaningful engagement.

Further, we are always seeking to empower our residents in sharing their skills and hobbies in our home with co residents and staff.
