Did you know…the Ontario Breast Screening Program (OBSP) lowered the recommended starting age for screening from 50 to 40! If you're at average risk, talk to your healthcare provider to determine if breast cancer screening is right for you.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a time to remind ourselves and our loved ones about the importance of early detection.

Regular breast cancer screening can find cancer when it’s small and easier to treat. If you’re between the ages of 40 and 74, you may be eligible for a mammogram through the Ontario Breast Screening Program — no doctor’s referral needed.

This month, take a moment to book your appointment or encourage a friend or family member to do the same. Visit tbrhsc.net/breast-cancer-screening for more information regarding breast cancer screening in Northwestern Ontario.
