Gotodoctor Celebrates Successes
and Platform Business Model Validation in 2023
December 29, 2023 - As the year is coming to an end, Gotodoctor.ca is proud to celebrate a successful year of growth including the establishment of a fully integrated digital healthcare platform model.
Some of the largest companies in the world are platform businesses, which host interactions and transactions among corporations and users. Different from linear and traditional M&A businesses, platform businesses bring together two or more groups of users on a digital network to create value for all of them. A network effect is created within these platforms as they increase the number and capacity of providers and range of services. Real Care Delivery Assets - Gotodoctor.ca uniquely offers a combination of in-person and virtual healthcare through its 250+ CareBridge pharmacy and medical clinic service sites – supporting more medical conditions and removing the limitation of pure virtual care. Instead of creating a parallel private employee health system, Gotodoctor aligns benefit plans with the public healthcare services to provide cost-savings and ensure sustainability and continuity of care.
Access Acceleration Technology - Patient care data is scattered among public systems, insurance companies, general practitioners, pharmacies and others. Gotodoctor.ca has developed a patent pending technology, Service Engine, to resolve access to care challenges. The Service Engine is fully integrated with multiple Electronic Medical Records and physician care systems, insurance data exchange and service delivery repositories. - Gotodoctor.ca established cross-border partnership with 1.800MD to deliver seamless access to physician care across North America
- Gotodoctor.ca and More Health set up exclusive partnership to deliver expert second medical opinion in Canada
- 100+ new CareBridge Pharmacy and Clinic service sites implemented from coast to coast, and the launching of yournewclinic.ca to enhance physician recruitment and resource management
- Established Hub and Spoke physician care model with Rexall Pharmacies
- Connected with Beniplus, a technology benefit administrator, to offer Gotodoctor.ca services
- Successfully expanded FHO family practice in Gotodoctor.ca’s flagship in-person clinic in Aurora
Enterprise Service Subscribers:
- Renewed and extended multi-year service agreement McKesson Retail Banner Group (IDA, Guardian, Remedy’sRx) as the preferred provider for medical clinic and physician services
- Expanded cardiology clinic service agreement with Novartis Canada
- Secured partnership agreement with SEB (Smart Employee Benefit)/Co-Operators
- Added new insurance and employer sponsors to the platform, including Fabricland, Automated Administration Services, and Quick Health Access/Green Benefits
The Gotodoctor.ca Access Acceleration Platform has established true integration and command among patients, providers and payers (public and private). It is the only comprehensive solution that enables service providers, regardless of their digital or physical setup, to connect and collaborate with enterprise subscribers so their services can be developed and deployed efficiently and effectively.
