Beth David Holistic & Culinary Wellness Healthy eating made simple for busy women who want to age well and thrive in midlife

Who took the joy out? 😳

I’m not gonna sugar coat this … eating well can feel hard

There’s so much focus on doing food the right way (whatever that is) that we’ve stopped paying attention to how food can actually make us feel — the comfort, satisfaction and joy that comes with a delicious meal

At some point we stopped listening to ourselves and started listening to everyone else’s opinions about the “right diet” or the “best foods”

✨But no one else knows you like you do✨

So what can happenwhen you stop listening to all the opinions about good and bad foods?

✅ Deciding what to eat gets a lot easier because you’re focused on how you feel instead of what other people are saying you need

Maybe it’s time to put the food rules aside and make room for some joy on your plate 😋

Here to chat in my DM’s if you want to put some joy back on your plate too

Clocks change
Your day doesn’t ⏰

Who knew that 1 hour can feel so looong

Sleep feels off
Energy dips
Brains fog
Even simple stuff feels harder 😣

🧹 This week isn’t for overhauls
It’s for going back to the basics

I shared a few simple ways to make the time change feel easier in a short blog ⬇️
Link is up top🌷or DM me and I’ll send it directly to you

⏰ what’s the hardest part for you when the clocks change?

🙋‍♀️the quick notes if you’re in a hurry
➡️Save the rest to read later

🙋‍♀️ not every meal needs to be your best effort

🙋‍♀️ you’re still nourishing yourself even if it’s not
💯

🙋‍♀️ leftovers count, and so do packaged foods

🙋‍♀️🙋‍♀️you’re probably doing better than you think

When we were feeding picky toddlers, we were told fed is best.
That wasn’t just true then — it’s still true for you now.

Waiting for perfect…
or avoiding a new approach because it feels “too late”… just keeps you stressed, confused, and still hungry

Years of food rules have probably left you second guessing your choices in midlife.

And that avalanche of “advice” from every direction? That can make even the simplest choices feel loaded

But eating well in midlife isn’t about perfection.
It’s about feeding yourself consistently — in real life.

✨ Start with small steps
✨ Use what you have
✨ Good enough is actually powerful

Save this for the days when “good enough” feels hard …

And tell me in the comments ➡️ what’s your easiest “I still need to eat” meal?

Do your food choices change with the weather?

I look forward to soup season - like a LOT

But by this time of year I’m ready to say Buh-bye to single pot solutions

More daylight has me thinking about Ontario asparagus, rhubarb and bbq’s

What about you ?

At some point eating got way too complicated ⬇️

Food became my tactic and eating a certain way was my rulebook

Food tactics looked like counting, measuring, timing, excluding and ignoring what was really satisfying if it felt “wrong”

When I shifted to looking at food as a tool to help me actually do the things I enjoyed, eating got a whole lot simpler

That stress around getting food right, the anxiety that how you’re eating is hurting your health, the feeling that you’ll never have enough time to cook properly
— it all started to disappear once | put myself back in charge of my plate

Starting to choose foods for how they make you feel - and not because someone else said this is how you need to eat - is a game changer

You don’t need perfect meals
You need meals that actually support your real life

If food has been feeling harder than it used to, you’re definitely not alone 🤗

My first mistake ⬇️

I believed in the “No shortcuts allowed” approach — because I had to make it all to be healthy?!?!

👉 Who makes the rules? (It should only be you!)

When I ditched “perfect” and leaned into “good enough for me” and I started feeling less overwhelmed about food, cooking more and actually enjoying it

☺️ Life’s too short to second guess every bite!

📌If you’re trying to make food feel easier too I think you’ll love what I share here 🐝

The pull to “do better” was always hard for me to resist 🙄

If something wasn’t working of course it was me - right? My default was always to blame myself and not the plan

One of the biggest perks of getting older is understanding that it’s NOT automatically me, especially when it comes to healthy eating in midlife

If you really think about it, it’s crazy to expect someone else’s cookie cutter plan to work for us?!? Do you agree?

That’s exactly why I’m such a big fan of 1:1 guidance when it comes to understanding and implementing your unique nutrition needs in midlife

We’re all individuals and personalized support allows you to tune back into your needs, instead of feeling like you’ve failed for not being able to follow someone else’s plan“perfectly”

If you’re tired of feeling overwhelmed and stressed out by what to eat in midlife, you’re in the right place 🤗
