What an incredible day we had at this year’s fundraising walk for ABLE! 💙

We’re so grateful to everyone who fundraised, sponsored our walkers, donated to our campaign, and came out to walk alongside us—brightening the sidewalks of Aurora in our iconic “We Are ABLE” blue t-shirts.

After the walk, we gathered at Aurora Town Square – Brevik Hall to celebrate with delicious nibbles from A Million Mouthfuls Catering and live music from our talented friends AinsworthDegrandis. There was plenty of dancing and great energy all around!

Thank you to everyone who helped make this event such a success. We couldn’t do it without you! ✨

This year’s fundraising walk in support of ABLE is coming up on Sunday, May 3rd!

Our program participants look forward to this event every year! This is a great opportunity for them to raise funds and awareness for ABLE while enjoying a fun Sunday afternoon with their peers and friends, their families and caregivers, ABLE Board members and staff, and some of our wonderful community partners and supporters. This is a big fundraiser for us so it’s very important that we meet our goal of raising $100,000 for ABLE. As a fee for service registered charity, our program is funded 50% by fees paid by our program participants and the other 50% is generated by grants, private donations, and organized fundraising events. While it’s challenging for us to maintain this financial model, we do it so that we can keep fees affordable for our participants and their families.

Please donate to our campaign, or sponsor one of our program participants, by visiting our campaign page at:

A big thank you to Highview P.S. and H.G. Bernard P.S. for inviting ABLE to their Parent Community Resource Event!

The event brought together families, caregivers, students, and organizations to share resources, services, and supports available for students in YRDSB’s Community Classes.

We’re especially proud of Jenna and Ethan, participants from ABLE’s Richmond Hill location, who were featured guest speakers. They shared their experiences with ABLE and their transition beyond high school with confidence, great job! 👏

Thank you again to both schools for hosting such a meaningful event. 💙 @ York Region District School Board
