As many of you are aware, a strike involving CUPE long-term care staff across Nova Scotia is expected to begin tomorrow, April 13 at 7am.

We want to take a moment to acknowledge our dedicated team members. They play a vital role in the lives of our residents every day, and we respect their right to engage in this process.

As always, the safety and well-being of our residents remains our highest priority. We have contingency plans in place to ensure essential care needs continue to be met. We will evaluate operations regularly and make adjustments as needed to maintain a safe and supportive environment for residents and staff.

We understand that this may be a concerning time for residents and their families. We are committed to keeping you informed and appreciate your patience and understanding as we navigate this situation.

Also, as a reminder, families and friends are welcome, and encouraged to visit during this labour disruption.

🌸🐰 Happy Easter from all of us at Alderwood Rest Home! 🐣🌷
Our days were filled with joy, laughter, and cherished traditions.
Our very own resident, Mildred, brought smiles to everyone’s faces as she suited up as the Easter Bunny and delivered delightful Easter surprises throughout the home🐰💐

We also had a wonderful Easter egg hunt on the Alderwood grounds, made even more special by the laughter of children from our community. A heartfelt thank you to the Baddeck Baptist Church for organizing this beautiful event 💛🥚

To allow tonight's weather to pass through and give families plenty of time - we are changing the time of the Easter Celebration at the Alderwood to 1:30pm.
🐰Join the fun the as we hop down the Bunny Trail of games, crafts, puppet show and face painting to collect the Easter eggs.🐰

We’re excited to welcome two new friends to Alderwood! 🐾
Meet Buddy, a sweet Labrador Retriever, and his human Jess. Their visits are already bringing smiles, comfort, and plenty of tail wags to our residents and staff.

Valentine’s Day is all about spreading the love ❤️ our little friends from the Rankin School of the Narrows Pre Primary were so kind and made a card for EACH resident 😊 and every single one of our residents loved it 😍
We made some cards for the hospital, Baddeck Academy and Rankin School of the Narrows❤️
