During winter months, the Meals Plus grocers and volunteers are as important as ever! Thank you to Cabot Trail Food Market, Neil's Harbour Coop, Ingonish Freshmart, Victoria Farmers Coop, and the Whycocomagh Coop as well as our hardy volunteers who venture out to do deliveries. We are so grateful to be the recipient of donations for the month of February! All funds received go directly to our Care Fund which provides dignity and independence through Personal Care products.

When you return your refundable beverage containers to the Jim Bradley Recycling Depot or the New Haven Recycling Depot, you can choose to donate your refund to the Charity of the Month.

All refund donations collected during the month go directly to the selected local non-profit group. It’s an easy way to support community organizations while recycling.

We heard you! At the presentation of findings by Dr. Bishakha Mazumdar and Dr. Maya Giorbelidze, one of the key messages from residents of Victoria County was that transit to medical appointments was a challenge. We are so pleased to say that with funding from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council, for a limited time we are trialling the Home to Healthcare pilot together with Victoria County Transit for Victoria County Residents age 55+. From now until March 31, 2026 call Community Connections at 902-295-2877 to register for complimentary transit to medical appointments anywhere in Cape Breton. Subject to Transit availability. We are also offering Travel Companions upon request.
