Bancroft, your voice shapes our future. 🗳️💙
With the municipal election coming this fall, we’re encouraging everyone to learn, get involved, and take pride in our local democracy.
Association of Municipalities of Ontario - AMO has released new Healthy Democracy resources to help residents, future candidates, and community leaders engage respectfully, understand the role of local government, and boost voter participation across Ontario.

Whether you’re thinking about running or simply want to stay informed, these tools are a great way to strengthen civic engagement right here at home.

Let’s show the province what community pride looks like. 🌱✨

March is National Fraud Prevention Month and this year’s theme is the “Hidden Crime”.

On Saturday March 28, 2026, the Bancroft OPP of the Ontario Provincial Police - East Region will be hosting a session on this extremely important issue that is affecting a rising number of people in all communities.

This regional collaboration is being hosted at the Hastings Highlands Centre after the success of the first event that occurred last fall which drew record numbers.
This regional event is free and open for anyone to attend due to the generosity of Limerick Township , Municipality of Highlands East , Township of Carlow/Mayo Wollaston Township, Tudor / Cashel Township and Faraday Township on this important educational initiative.

Share, mark your calendars and register here: https://www.eventbrite.ca/e/bancroft-opp-fraud-presentation-tickets-1983615635764?utm-campaign=social&utm-content=attendeeshare&utm-medium=discovery&utm-term=listing&utm-source=cp&aff=ebdsshcopyurl to ensure you have a spot at this upcoming event.

Should you not have access to completing this online, feel free to access it through your local library and their teams will be happy to assist in this process.

Tomorrow, a team member from Shelby Kramp-Neuman MP's office will be here. See poster for details.

On Wednesday, January 28, OHTO hosted a lively Mix & Mingle at the Bancroft Brew Pub, welcoming an estimated 30 attendees at its peak.

Tourism operators traveled in from across the region underscoring the value of connecting as a broader Ontario’s Highlands industry. The afternoon was filled with strong networking, meaningful conversations, and plenty of discussion about the winter season (which, thanks to all the snow, has certainly made its presence known!).

Events like this continue to strengthen regional relationships, spark collaboration, and build momentum as we move through the winter tourism season together.
