The Madeira retreat is themed around the life of a flower so as I get ready to leave, I thought to share my most recent floral painting. Now on display at the Banff Mineral Springs hospital. BEAUVAIS BLOOMS 🌻 Arrowleaf Balsamroot are the sunflowers of Southern Alberta. At just the right time of year, stunning fields of yellow cover the hills near Beauvais Lake. Their flower essence reveals strength, resilience, and enduring beauty. Its ability to thrive in windy & raw environments is a testament to its hardiness, making it a symbol of perseverance and tenacity.

Aww the self portrait🙃I’ve now signed off on this lesson. Obsessing over getting it right and then realizing that the imperfections I see is what makes us all unique. I didn’t realize that my nose is slightly crooked most likely from breaking it playing baseball in grade 6. It’s really an interesting exercise to see what parts of ourselves we focus on. I definitely spend more time detailing eyes which reflects the visual person I am. It’s not until you spend time studying oneself that these little discoveries appear. If you give a swipe through, you’ll see the progress or as my daughter said the reconstructive surgery. A few bonus images are of self portraits at the Edinburgh portraiture museum we came across . As always, thank you for these valuable lessons of being an artist💫

Some of you may or may not know that I’ve been reading cards for 30yrs now💖it’s a practice I truly cherish doing and I’m honoured when people trust me to uncover valuable insight based on tarot. I’ve been using the same deck of cards for 25yrs and they have travelled with me literally all over the world.
