"I feel so inflamed!"
I hear this all the time from my patients. And you know what? You're probably right.
Inflammation plays a huge role in fibromyalgia. Research has shown that people with fibromyalgia tend to have high levels of inflammatory markers in the blood.
Not only that, there's evidence of inflammation within the brain in fibromyalgia sufferers.
Makes sense why things can feel a bit foggy up there
Inflammation is important and necessary for you to survive, but there's a time and place for it.
If your body is constantly waging a fiery war internally, you're going to feel inflamed.
You're going to feel foggy, achy, hurty, exhausted, and unwell.
Keeping the inflammatory process going takes up tons of energy, uses up nutrients, derails your immune system, and leaves a lot of damage in it's wake.
It's 𝐒𝐎 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐭 to break the cycle of inflammation so that your body can heal.
This is always the first step I take with my patients.
Inflammation is triggered in many ways, including:
🔥 - Eating foods high in sugar, trans and saturated fats, and processed foods.
🔥 - Eating foods that you are sensitive or intolerant to.
🔥 - A negative mindset.
🔥 - High levels of stress (and not enough self-care).
🔥 - Exercise that is too intense for where you're at in your health journey.
🔥 - Poorly functioning mitochondria.
🔥 - Gut bacteria imbalances.
🔥 - Toxins in your physical environment.
🔥 - "Toxic" relationships in your personal or work life.
I know that's a long list, but you want to hear the good news?
They're ALL things within your control.
I talk about this a lot in my book Flourishing With Fibromyalgia: A Natural Guide to Taking Back the Life Fibromyalgia Stole From you. Do you have your copy yet?
