Good morning,

We had some cancellations this morning. We are all set up and ready to welcome you today!

Event is scheduled 9am-4pm as we have a fun filled day with education on foot care, diabetes 101 knowledge, personal stories will be shared, and presentations related to managing your diabetes through movement & nutrition + a game of Nutritional BINGO to finish off the day!

Join us for a healthy Lunch (12-1pm) and snacks will be provided during the day at the Casino in the Ballroom!

Plus, you will have the opportunity to get your feet screened supported by the Indigenous Diabetes Health Circle (IDHC), retinopathy eye screening (provided by Anishinabek Nation) and Kidney Screening provided by Mamaway/RVH Indigenous Chronic Disease screening team! We will also have information related to food programs from around the region and Abbott Canada will be joining us with their brand new libre 3 sensors to “Test Drive/ try on”! And bonus, we have 2 reflexologist on site today to pamper you and your feet!

Good day,

Our Mamaway Life Promoter, Bawd has created a men’s group called “Ininiwag Maawanji’idiwag” which translates to “Men Gather Together”.

An open forum group that will encourage free-flow conversation, guided but not scripted.

The drop-in style format is a flexible meeting structure where participants attend as they choose, rather than committing to a set schedule or make a long-term commitment.

The group is every Monday from 6:00pm and runs until 8:00pm at 110 Matchedash St North Orillia.

Registration is not required. Weather pending, the men will gather by the fire in the backyard.

Barrie Area Native Advisory Circle - Mamaway Wiidokdaadwin and Chippewas of Rama First Nations invites you to a homemade cold & flu remedies Workshop. Join us for a hands-on experience led by Heather McIntyre, where you'll learn how to make traditional and natural remedies to support your wellness during cold and flu season. We will be meeting in the lower level kitchen of the building.

Making = Fire Cider Honey, Ginger Tussin and Cold Muscle Balm

When: November 17th
Location: 6036 Rama Road, Rama
(lower level kitchen of the Mnoyaawgmig building)
Time: 1pm to 3pm and 5pm to 7pm

Good day,

Mamaway is hosting another evening tea series.

Please join us each week as we explore various teas—from calming blends that promote restful sleep and relaxation, to herbal infusions that support stress relief, immune health, cold and flu recovery, pain and inflammation reduction, digestive balance, bloating relief, heart and circulatory wellness, and liver and kidney function.

We will have samples of the teas and information handouts each week.

Starts: November 5th - December 10th

NOTE: We will be gathering at 210 Memorial Ave Suite 108 in Orillia on September 29th due to repairs at the Match Hub occurring next week.

Aaniin,

We’re pleased to announce the next Indigenous Arts-Based Mindfulness (IAM) 8-week series starting October 9, 2025.

This culturally rooted series supports emotional regulation, self-awareness, and healing through mindfulness and creative expression. Participants will engage in activities such as drawing, storytelling, and guided imagery to promote wholistic wellness.

The IAM series is open to Indigenous adults who have previously attended recovery groups with Mamaway Wiidokdaadwin or other organizations. Participants must not be in active substance use that affects their ability to participate.
