Family Day feels even more meaningful when you’ve witnessed just how families begin. 🤍
As a doula, I have the honour of watching strength turn into softness the moment a baby is placed on their parents’ chest.
Supporting birth has shown me that family isn’t just created in a single moment — it’s nurtured in every touch, every tear, every breath after.
Today I’m holding close both the families I serve and the one I get to go home to.
What a gift it is to support the beginning of a family’s story and celebrate the beauty of it continuing. ✨

Love isn’t just roses and candlelight — sometimes it looks like steady hands in labour, whispered prayers between contractions, and unwavering support when a mama needs it most 🤍✨

This Valentine’s Day, I’m celebrating the fierce, tender, selfless love that brings babies into the world — because there is no love story more powerful than a mother meeting her child for the first time.

𝙸𝚝𝚜 𝚠𝚎𝚎𝚔𝚜 𝚕𝚒𝚔𝚎 𝚝𝚑𝚎𝚜𝚎...
Being asked to support a mama not only through her first birth, but now again for her second, is something I never take lightly. It’s such an honour to be welcomed back into a family’s journey and trusted during another sacred chapter. I love getting to catch up with these mamas, hear how they’re truly doing, and finally meet (or reunite with) their little ones. Watching their babies grow, seeing their personalities shine, and witnessing how much love fills the room is pure magic. Hearing those tiny laughs and first giggles for the first time is beyond precious and a reminder of why this work means so much to my heart 🤍

𝟚𝟘𝟚𝟞 ♡
How exciting that my 2026 already has multiple clients booked—and right in the middle of it all, I’ll also be welcoming a 2nd baby of my own. I’m so grateful to be taking intentional time to soak in our newest little addition and create sweet family memories as a family of four. After supporting and welcoming so many babies into the world over the past few years, it feels incredibly special and humbling to now be supported by my own doula as we prepare to welcome our second sweet baby. ♡

Only a few months later will I have the honour of supporting with labour/birth for a new mama as she welcomes her babe into the world, as well as other mamas with prenatal education and labour/birth. What an absolute blessing. I currently only have 𝗢𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗯𝗲𝗿 & 𝗡𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 available for birth support.

It’s only February, and my heart is already so full—beyond excited for all that 2026 holds ♡

Every human who has ever lived began in the body of a mother, held first by her heartbeat before the world ever knew their name. A woman’s body is miraculous beyond words—created with the wisdom to grow, nourish, protect, and bring forth life. To carry another soul is one of the most sacred gifts, a quiet power woven into us from the very beginning. Our bodies remember how to create life, how to love instinctively, and how to endure with grace. What an honour it is to be women, entrusted with such holy, life-giving strength.

𝕎ℍ𝕐 𝕋ℍ𝔼 𝔾𝕃𝕌ℂ𝕆𝕊𝔼 𝕋𝔼𝕊𝕋

Pregnant women take the glucose test to screen for gestational diabetes, which develops when pregnancy hormones make it harder for the body to use insulin effectively. As insulin resistance increases, blood sugar levels can rise, even in women who were completely healthy before pregnancy. This matters because high blood sugar in the mother causes extra glucose to pass to the baby, leading the baby to produce more insulin and potentially grow too large. This can increase the risk of complications such as difficult labor, birth injuries, low blood sugar in the baby after birth, and breathing concerns. For the mother, unmanaged gestational diabetes raises the chances of preeclampsia, induction, cesarean birth, and developing type 2 diabetes later in life. The glucose test provides early awareness so lifestyle changes, nutrition, and medical support can be put in place to protect both mother and baby.

Prenatal education empowers parents to feel confident and prepared as they approach labour and birth. It helps them understand what their body is doing, what their options are, and how to navigate decisions with clarity instead of fear. Knowledge creates calm, confidence, and a deeper sense of trust in the birth process.

𝗪𝗛𝗬 𝗜 𝗟𝗢𝗩𝗘 𝗧𝗘𝗔𝗖𝗛𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗜𝗧:
I love teaching prenatal education because I get to watch fear turn into confidence and uncertainty turn into empowerment. My clients leave feeling informed, supported, and truly in control of the choices they make for their labour and birth. The classes I teach cover so much that is often not discussed in standard prenatal care or hospitals, giving parents a fuller picture of what’s possible. It’s incredibly rewarding to know they walk into birth feeling prepared, respected, and aligned with the experience they desire.

Wake window activities are important because they support your baby’s natural development without overwhelming their nervous system.
They help babies learn about the world in gentle, meaningful ways during the short moments they are naturally alert.
Simple activities like cuddling, talking, or tummy time build connection while strengthening the brain and body.
These moments encourage healthy sleep by honoring a baby’s need for balance between stimulation and rest.
Wake window activities don’t need to be complicated—babies thrive most in presence, not performance.
When we slow down and follow their cues, we create a sacred rhythm that supports both baby and parent.
