Meet the team Monday - Say hi to Valerie

Valerie is a Registered Physiotherapy Resident with a Masters of Physical Therapy from the University of Manitoba.

After a few years in the marketing and sports broadcasting industries, Valerie pursued a career in physiotherapy.

Her interest in physiotherapy comes from her passion for helping others return to a healthy way of life after an injury or accident. Valerie takes pride in connecting with her patients and is committed to supporting them in their recovery journeys.

Growing up as a competitive athlete, exercise and living a healthy lifestyle was more than a passion – it’s a way of life. She understands how exercise therapy can play a huge role in rehabilitation. Outside of work, you can find Valerie breaking a sweat at the gym,j participating in Zumba classes, cooking, hiking, playing volleyball and spending time at the lake.

Changing careers was scary but it was worth it! Valerie wants you to know that you are never too old to set another goal, or to dream a new dream. Go for it!

Valerie is in clinic Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

Meet the team Monday - say hi to David!

David is a registered physiotherapist with a 10-year career. He graduated from McMaster University with a Bachelor of Kinesiology degree. After taking some time to travel abroad throughout Australia and Europe, he then completed his Masters of Science in Physiotherapy in England at Oxford Brookes University.

David has a wide range of experience including acute care rehabilitation, public health, private practice and specialized rehabilitation in a post acute care hospital. He is passionate about continuing professional development and education, previously being the Interprofessional Clinical Education Lead of a Toronto Hospital.

He is a firm believer in providing evidence based, individualized, patient centred treatment that focuses on regaining functional activity that is important to the patient.

In his free time David enjoys spending time with his wife, son, cat and dog. He enjoys staying active through sport; playing hockey, baseball and golfing.

David is in clinic 3 days a week with both morning and evening availability.

Meet the team Monday: Have you met our Physiotherapist KATIE!

Katie is a registered physiotherapist with an established 15+ year career within the physiotherapy profession. After graduating University of Guelph with a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Kinetics, Katie continued on to Queen’s University where she earned a Master’s in Science degree in Physiotherapy.

Katie has had very diverse experience working as a Physiotherapist, ranging from sport ins related injuries, acute care rehabilitation as well as home care. This wide range of patient experiences has led to an extensive understanding of human movement, rehabilitation and recovery.

Katie is passionate about patients understanding their injury or condition to assist in their recovery and return to activity. Her treatment approach is patient focused combining education, manual therapy and treatment as well as individual exercise prescription to achieve an active recovery.

Katie is committed to lifelong learning to expand her knowledge and skills through professional development courses, and applying these skills and expertise when treating patients.

Growing up as a competitive dancer, Katie understands and is passionate about exercise and human movement. In her spare time, Katie and her husband stay active and busy with their two daughters who play hockey. As a family they enjoy skiing, snowboarding, boating and living a fun and active lifestyle!

Katie works Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday at STRIVE with morning and evening availability!

Meet the team Monday - Say hi to Surabhi!

Surabhi graduated with a Bachelor’s in Physiotherapy from India. She has worked as a registered physiotherapist since 2013.

Surabhi takes keen interest in private practice and has focused her practice in that niche. Over the years she has gathered an immense amount of experience working with various neuromusculoskeletal conditions like sports injuries, pre and post operative conditions, osteoarthritis, sciatica, low back pain, shoulder pain, muscle and tendon tears. You name it- she’s seen it!

As a result of additional education, she has been able to treat numerous people suffering from chronic pain, concussions and vertigo (BPPV).

She has also taken courses with the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada Institute, which enables her to administer both acupuncture and dry needling treatment to her patients.

Out of interest in Women’s health, she underwent training in treating urinary incontinence and pelvic pain which enables her to incorporate treatment of the pelvic floor, an often under-addressed area. She enjoys educating women about their bodies and helping them through the journey of pregnancy and the post partum recovery.

Surabhi believes in incorporating a combination of education, active exercises, passive manual (hands-on) techniques, acupuncture/dry needling and other modalities to enable people to reach their goals. She has treated, guided and aided hundreds of people to resume their normal life and return to school, work or sport after an injury, surgery or chronic illness and enjoys helping people transition back to their normal life.

She believes that the treatment process is a partnership between the patient and the therapist and enjoys working with each person to reach their full potential.

Outside of work, Surabhi enjoys movies, spending time with her family, traveling and dancing.

Surabhi works at STRIVE on Mondays,Tuesdays and Thursday's from 8am-4pm
