If this sounds familiar, you’re not alone.

One of the most common signs of hearing loss is exactly this: being able to hear someone talking, but struggling to understand what they’re saying especially in group conversations or noisy environments.

Losing the ability to hear higher-pitched frequencies, like the soft consonants in speech (F, S, TH, SH, CH) makes voices sound muffled or unclear, even though you may still hear the volume just fine.
