It's a hard thing to do, raising fees hurts the folks struggling to pay for care as it was, but I am no millionaire, I have no benefits, I've reduced my expenses as much as possible, and even donate my time weekly to the Clinic and I just can't keep it up.

I LOVE CLEANING TEETH!

I LOVE HELPING PEOPLE!

I need to be compensated for doing the thing I love.

I need to replace the old ratty office chair. I need to replace the old faded sign in the front of my building. To repair my deck and wheelchair ramp. Have to be ready for my old equipment to break down and need replacing. Need to be able to put away money for retirement someday.

Those who value what I do for them as their registered dental hygienist will pay the fees. Those clients who don't value what I do for them are welcome to call and cancel their appointments. Please don't no show and waste my valuable time. I'd rather be home with my family than sit through a no show waiting for an hour.

For perspective. Before the increase the average adult paid $164.21, with the increase that same cleaning will now cost $197.60.

Goodluck Lily! Lily has been in the Clinic half days on a co-op placement with . She has applied to the Dental Hygiene program @ 3 different Colleges.

We wish her all the best in her future and appreciate her help at the Clinic the past several months.

Sitting here January 8th 2026 during our 3rd No SHOW of the year. This might be a record.

Folks Candace calls or emails a week in advance to confirm your appointment. If it isn't going to work for you please contact her back and let her know. This way she can call the folks sitting on our cancellation list who want an appointment.

Candace also calls or emails the day before your appointment to remind you of the appointment, and to pre-screen you to ensure you are healthy for the day of your appointment.

Please either reschedule or cancel your appointments if you can't make it. This way we can reschedule it with someone else. And you will avoid the $55 No Show fee.

Thank you so much to all of my clients and my administrator Candace for you patience and understanding while I've been away to give a family member a hand.

I was excited to see these signs in the T.O. general hospital. They highlight the importance of oral health post-operative. #3 Good Oral Hygiene to prevent post operative pneumonia! The links between oral health and overall health just keep popping up!

I'm in Niagra Falls nerding out at the National Dental Hygiene Conference. It's been fun to catch up with folks I haven't seen in a long time, seeing new technology in dental hygiene and learning new things.

hooked me up with this new addition to my keys...and it's even my favourite colour!

Having fun, but can't wait to get back to my home of Barry's Bay!

I'm considering doing a mouthguard clinic at BBDHC in September. Just wondering how much interest there is. These guards are for high risk sports like, snowboarding, hockey, figure skating, horse riding, martial arts, football, rugby, etc. Let me know if this is of interest to you folks

We are participants. We accept the federal government dental care plan at the Barry's Bay Dental Hygiene Clinic.

Here are some things you should know if you want to use the plan:

👉 you must bring your dental card to your appointment.

👉 you need to check the paper the card was attached to see the date your co erage started as we need that date to plug into our software.

👉 at BBDHC we can not write off the difference between the federal governments fee schedule and the provincial fee guide we have always billed on. So even if your letter told you that you have 100%coverage there will be a small co-pay. For most clients this is less than $20.

👉 Sunlife will only pay the provider of care (us), so you CAN NOT submit a claim yourself.

👉 We will not adjust treatment or recommendations to match your benefit coverage.
