A new, state-of-the-art Bone Mineral Density machine has arrived at St Francis Memorial Hospital!

Thanks to the outstanding support of our donors, patients now have access to enhanced diagnostic technology close to home. Your generosity continues to make a lasting impact on local healthcare.

St. Francis Memorial Hospital is proud to enhance its Bone Mineral Density (BMD) service with a new state-of-the-art machine — continuing to provide high-quality osteoporosis screening and diagnostic imaging close to home for the community. 💙

This new technology offers faster scan times, improved reporting capabilities, and supports earlier detection and monitoring of osteoporosis and fracture risk — all while maintaining low-dose imaging and a more efficient patient experience.

The new BMD unit also allows for modernized reporting and integration with Epic, the electronic health record system, helping ensure patients can access the same high standard of care available in larger centres without having to travel far from home.

Sincere thanks to the St. Francis Valley Healthcare Foundation for its fundraising efforts and support in helping with the purchase of the new BMD machine for the hospital and community.

If you are over the age of 65 or feel you may benefit from a Bone Mineral Density scan, please speak with your healthcare provider.

Brooke Siegel knows how important it is to support local healthcare. As an x-ray technician working at a Haliburton hospital, she sees every day the impact donor funds have in helping purchase critical equipment that keeps care close to home.

Brooke lives in Round Lake and purchased her Catch the Ace ticket online, knowing the funds support St. Francis Memorial Hospital, Madawaska Valley Hospice, and Valley Manor.

She chose number 10 on a whim, which revealed the Eight of Clubs.
She has no immediate plans for her $870 winnings, but was grateful for the opportunity to support a good cause.
