St. Francis Valley Healthcare Foundation St. Francis Valley Healthcare Foundation

Our very active registered charity has been raising funds in support of the equipment needs of the St Francis Memorial Hospital since 2001. Recently, the Foundation has enhanced its scope to include fundraising for all of the non profit healthcare organizations, including the MV Hospice Palliative Care program and the Valley Manor Nursing Home. Our goal is to create an opportunity for the donors of the Madawaska Valley and area to advance healthcare by ensuring support for equipment and facility needs through the efforts of one fundraising organization. The SFVH Foundation will work in partnership with the three organizations to inclusively fundraise based on long term plans for the healthcare needs of the community. The Foundation is closely connected with our community and receives strong support from individuals and organizations throughout our healthcare catchment area.

We did it!

Thanks to the incredible generosity of our Catch the Ace community, McRae Lumber made good on their promise and donated an amazing $10,000 to the St. Francis Valley Healthcare Foundation (SFVHF) to support local healthcare!

At the start of our Catch the Ace lottery, McRae Lumber issued a challenge - pledging to match the proceeds of every ticket sold during the first four weeks.

By the end of Week 4, our community raised $9,880, and true to their word, McRae Lumber rounded it up to an even $10,000!

A huge thank you to Cameron McRae, pictured here with SFVHF Executive Director Erin Gienow, for facilitating this generous gift and for inspiring others to give back.

Let’s keep the momentum going! Purchase your Catch the Ace ticket today and help continue raising funds for our local healthcare partners at www.sfvhfcatchtheace.com

Karaoke time at St. Francis Memorial Hospital!

Patients in the hospital's medical unit were treated to some Karaoke fun last week.

Kelly McKay and Ken MacKaye from Kelly's Karaoke , who regularly bring their entertainment to the hospital, played some familiar tunes while patients sang along.

Physiotherapist Assistant at St. Francis, Lindsey Stamplecoskie, said the party was enjoyed by patients and staff alike.

Thank you to the St. Francis Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, for their generous donation of $10,000 to the St. Francis Valley Healthcare Foundation.

Proceeds will go towards the purchase of a mammography machine at St. Francis Memorial Hospital, which will cost over $400,000 to replace.

The new machine will bring 3D Digital Mammography to St. Francis – which provides clearer images of abnormalities within dense breast tissue and reduces false alarms by up to 40%.

Volunteer auxiliary members raise funds through gift shop sales and the sale of Nevada tickets.
