St. Francis Valley Healthcare Foundation

St. Francis Valley Healthcare Foundation St. Francis Valley Healthcare Foundation

Our very active registered charity has been raising funds in support of the equipment needs of the St Francis Memorial Hospital since 2001. Recently, the Foundation has enhanced its scope to include fundraising for all of the non profit healthcare organizations, including the MV Hospice Palliative Care program and the Valley Manor Nursing Home. Our goal is to create an opportunity for the donors of the Madawaska Valley and area to advance healthcare by ensuring support for equipment and facility needs through the efforts of one fundraising organization. The SFVH Foundation will work in partnership with the three organizations to inclusively fundraise based on long term plans for the healthcare needs of the community. The Foundation is closely connected with our community and receives strong support from individuals and organizations throughout our healthcare catchment area.

Every day leading up to New Years Eve, we will be profiling our area service clubs who gave generously to our Tree of Lights Match-It program held on Giving Tuesday earlier this month.

Today, we show our gratitude to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 406. This incredible group provided an amazing $1,000 in Match It Funds. Thank you!

With the help of all seven of our local service clubs, the St. Francis Valley Healthcare Foundation raised an incredible $15,000, which was used as Match-It funds on Giving Tuesday. This inspired many donors to give to our Tree of Lights Campaign, and generated a grand total of $35,099.

Proceeds will go toward local healthcare, including the purchase of essential equipment for the medical unit at St. Francis Memorial Hospital.

Our Tree of Lights Campaign is ongoing until December 31. To make your gift, visit www.sfvhfoundation.com, call us at 613-756-3045 ext. 217, or if you received our Tree of Lights letter back in November, fill out and mail back the form.

Every day leading up to New Years Eve, we will be profiling our area service clubs who gave generously to our Tree of Lights Match-It program held on Giving Tuesday earlier this month.

Today, we show our gratitude to the Palmer Rapids and Area Lions Club. This active club raises money through a number of fundraisers throughout the year, ranging from raffle ticket sales to Bingo events.

Palmer Lions contributed $3,500 to our Match-It program. They also raised an additional $2,100 through their annual Tree of Love celebration at the beginning of December, resulting in a $5,600 total donation to the Foundation. Thank you!

Congratulations to Sue McAllister, a dedicated volunteer at the Foundation, who was nominated for a Guardian Angel pin!

Sue is someone who consistently goes above and beyond in the office, handling admin duties with care and dedication.

But it’s not just what she does professionally that makes her special. On a personal level, Sue has helped out staff in ways they’ll never forget.

“She’s helped out in emergencies like picking my kids up from school and driving me when my car broke down,” St. Francis Valley Healthcare Foundation’s Christine Hudder said. “Her kindness extends far beyond the office, and she’s become a true friend to me and to everyone here at the Foundation.”

The Guardian Angel program gives you the chance to recognize individuals like Sue for their exceptional care and commitment. Your support helps ensure our caregivers have the resources they need to continue providing the best care possible.

For more information or to nominate someone who’s made a difference in your life, call 613-756-3045 ext. 217 or visit www.sfvhfoundation.com/donate/guardian-angels/.
