What a journey! We’re grateful to have such a strong program in our community supporting so many seniors. We’re excited to celebrate the four-year extension of the NHWW program! 🎉

Today, I am beyond proud and deeply grateful to share the news of the 4-year extension of the Nursing Home Without Walls program in Bathurst. What an incredible milestone for something that has grown into so much more than just a program. It has become a community, a support system, and a lifeline for so many, truly adding life to years for those we serve.
I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to Victor Shea, CEO, of Atlantic Baptist Housing, and Chantal Hanson, Director of Clinical Operations at Robert & Helen Knowles Memorial Home for believing in this vision and entrusting me with the opportunity to help bring it to life. Your support has meant everything.
To my amazing team; Emily Dempsey, Administrative Assistant, and Donovan Lanteigne, PSW/Activities Coordinator, thank you for your dedication, compassion, and hard work this past year. None of this would have been possible without you both.
A special thank you as well to the incredible kitchen staff at the Villa Chaleur; Mike, Josh, Dominique, Heidi, Tammy, and Sue for your continued support and for always helping bring our big ideas and visions to life in such meaningful ways.
To everyone who has played a role in building and supporting this program, thank you. It truly takes a village. And most importantly, to each and every one of YOU, our participants. This program would not exist without you. Thank you for trusting us, for welcoming us into your lives, and for continuing to believe in what we do.
Over the past year, we have seen firsthand the impact this program has had, helping improve day-to-day lives, being a trusted person to talk to during both the hardest and the happiest moments, sharing in tears of sadness and tears of joy. It’s in those moments, both good and challenging, that the true heart of this program shines, and where we continue adding life to years every single day.
I am absolutely honoured to be part of this journey, to have helped grow it into what it is today, and I am so excited for what lies ahead. I cannot wait to see how much further we will go and how many more lives we will touch in the years to come.
Here’s to each and every one of you, and to us, for the next four years of Nursing Home Without Walls.

Aujourd’hui, je suis plus que fière et profondément reconnaissante de partager la nouvelle de la prolongation de 4-ans du programme Foyer de Soins Sans Murs à Bathurst. Quel accomplissement incroyable pour quelque chose qui est devenu tellement plus qu’un simple programme. C’est maintenant une communauté, un réseau de soutien pour tant de personnes, en ajoutant réellement de la vie aux années de celles et ceux que nous accompagnons.
Je tiens à offrir mes plus sincères remerciements à Victor Shea, CEO, de Atlantic Baptist Housing, ainsi qu’à Chantal Hanson, directrice des opérations cliniques du foyer Robert & Helen Knowles Memorial Home pour avoir cru en cette vision et m’avoir fait confiance pour aider à la concrétiser. Votre soutien a tout voulu dire pour moi.
À mon équipe extraordinaire; Emily Dempsey, adjointe administrative, et Donovan Lanteigne, préposé aux soins personnels et coordonnateur des activités, merci pour votre dévouement, votre compassion et votre beau travail au cours de la dernière année. Rien de tout cela n’aurait été possible sans vous deux.
Un remerciement tout spécial également à l’incroyable équipe de cuisine de la Villa Chaleur; Mike, Josh, Dominique, Heidi, Tammy et Sue pour votre soutien constant et pour toujours nous aider à donner vie à nos grandes idées et à nos visions de façon si significative.
À toutes les personnes qui ont joué un rôle dans la création et le soutien de ce programme, merci. Ça prend vraiment tout un village.
Et surtout, à chacune et chacun d’entre VOUS, nos participantes et participants. Ce programme n’existerait pas sans vous. Merci de nous faire confiance, de nous accueillir dans vos vies et de continuer à croire en ce que nous faisons.
Au cours de la dernière année, nous avons été témoins de l’impact de ce programme, en aidant à améliorer le quotidien, en étant une personne de confiance à qui parler autant dans les moments les plus difficiles que dans les plus joyeux, en partageant des larmes de tristesse comme des larmes de bonheur. C’est dans ces moments‑là, les bons comme les plus difficiles, que le cœur de ce programme brille vraiment, et que nous continuons d’ajouter de la vie aux années, jour après jour.
Je suis extrêmement honorée de faire partie de cette aventure, d’avoir contribué à la faire grandir pour qu’elle devienne ce qu’elle est aujourd’hui, et je suis tellement enthousiaste pour l’avenir. J’ai très hâte de voir jusqu’où nous irons et combien d’autres vies nous toucherons dans les années à venir.
Voici donc à chacune et chacun d’entre vous, et à nous, pour les quatre prochaines années de Foyer de Soins Sans Murs.
