I specialize in trauma therapy, with a strong focus on complex trauma, and believe in creating a safe, warm, and non-judgmental space where clients feel supported to explore their experiences and rediscover their inner strength. My approach is grounded in compassion and guided by extensive training and over 26 years of experience in the mental health and addictions field, drawing from a range of evidence-based, trauma-informed practices. Happy Mother’s Day to the women whose love becomes the heart of a home and the steady light in the lives around them. 💐🌸💛

Today is about celebrating the mothers, grandmothers, stepmothers, caregivers, and mother figures whose love is felt in both the big moments and the quiet everyday ones. 🌷

The women who show up—again and again.
Who comfort through hard days.
Who cheer the loudest.
Who hold families together with strength, warmth, and care.
Who carry so much, often without ever asking for recognition. 🤍

Motherhood is found in the little things that become the biggest things: ✨

🌼 The bedtime talks
🌸 The reassuring hugs
🌿 The school drop-offs and late-night check-ins
💐 The meals made with love
🌷 The sacrifices no one else sees
🤍 The endless ways you make others feel safe, supported, and deeply loved

Your love leaves lasting footprints.
Your presence matters more than you know.
And the care you pour into others has the power to shape lives for years to come. 🌼

To every woman who nurtures, guides, supports, and loves wholeheartedly—today we celebrate you. 💛🌸

And if Mother’s Day feels emotional, complicated, or tender in any way, may today also bring gentleness, compassion, and moments of peace. 🌿

Wishing you a beautiful Mother’s Day filled with love, connection, appreciation, and small meaningful moments that remind you just how valued you truly are. 💐✨

May is Mental Health Awareness Month 🌿

A gentle reminder that mental health is not just about crisis.
It’s about everyday life.

It’s the smile you wear while quietly carrying exhaustion.
The overthinking at 2 a.m.
The way your body holds stress.
The tears that come “for no reason.”
The strength it takes just to keep showing up some days.

And it’s also:
✨ Learning to rest without guilt
✨ Setting boundaries that protect your peace
✨ Asking for help when life feels heavy
✨ Beginning again after hard seasons
✨ Realizing you deserve support too

Healing rarely looks perfect or linear.

Sometimes healing looks like:
Getting out of bed.
Answering the text.
Going for the walk.
Taking the medication.
Cancelling the plans.
Crying in the car.
Starting therapy.
Trying again.

This month is a reminder that mental health matters every single day—not only when things fall apart.

You are allowed to care for yourself.
You are allowed to slow down.
You are allowed to take up space in your own healing.

And here in Newfoundland and Labrador, where so many people quietly carry so much while continuing to care for everyone around them, may this also be a reminder:

You do not have to carry it all alone.

Support matters.
Connection matters.
You matter.🧡

It’s Back — Walk & Talk Therapy is Here Again 🌿✨

Now in its third year since Dale Counselling Services first began offering Walk & Talk Therapy, I’m truly excited to be offering it again for another season.

It continues to be one of the most refreshing, meaningful, and natural ways to engage in counselling.

There’s something powerful about stepping outside…
Moving your body…
And allowing conversation to flow a little more freely.

Walk & Talk Therapy offers all the benefits of traditional in-person sessions—connection, support, and guidance—while adding the gentle rhythm of walking, fresh air, and the calming influence of nature.

For many, it can feel:
✨ More relaxed and less formal
✨ Easier to open up while walking side-by-side
✨ Grounding for the nervous system
✨ Supportive for both emotional and physical well-being

Here in Newfoundland, where we’re surrounded by such incredible natural beauty, this approach feels especially fitting. The ocean air, the quiet trails, the steady pace—it all creates space to breathe, reflect, and process in a different way.

So how does it work?
We meet at a pre-arranged outdoor location, walk at a comfortable pace, and engage in a therapeutic conversation—just as we would in session—always guided by your needs, your comfort, and your goals.

A few important details:
Walk & Talk sessions are offered on a limited basis each week, depending on availability and, of course, our ever-unpredictable Newfoundland weather. If weather conditions don’t allow for an outdoor session, your appointment will seamlessly transition to an in-person session at the clinic.

Why is it so important?
Because healing doesn’t only happen within four walls.
Sometimes it happens in movement… in fresh air… in the quiet moments between steps.

If this feels like something that might be right for you, I’d be happy to connect.

✨Maybe it’s not you… maybe it’s the season of life you’re in.✨

Like the Newfoundland weather, things can shift quickly—
one moment steady, the next a little harder to navigate.

You might notice your energy changing.
Your patience not stretching as far.
Your emotions rising more quickly than they used to.

And it can leave you wondering…

“Why does this feel so different?”

Menopause has a way of quietly asking you to slow your pace,
listen a little closer,
and care for yourself in ways you may not have needed before.

It’s not the easiest season but it can become a meaningful one.
✨A time to reconnect with yourself.
✨To soften where you’ve been pushing.
✨To begin supporting your body and mind in a new way.

And you don’t have to figure that out alone.

There is support right here, close to home.

As a certified menopause mental health provider, I offer care that is designed specifically for women—supporting women through this transition with understanding, compassion, and experience.

If something in this resonates with you,
it may be a gentle sign to reach out.

You’re not meant to just get through this—
you’re meant to feel supported within it.💛

✨What Therapy Actually Looks Like ✨

It’s not always big breakthroughs or life-changing moments.

Sometimes it’s just showing up
when everything in you wants to cancel.

It’s learning how to sit with feelings
you’ve spent a long time avoiding.

It’s saying something out loud
for the first time and feeling it shift, even just a little.

It’s understanding yourself in a new way
and realizing…
maybe you’re not “too much” after all.

It’s small moments.
Quiet realizations.
Tiny shifts that start to add up.

And over time…
those small shifts can change everything.

If you’ve been thinking about therapy,
this is your reminder—it doesn’t have to look perfect to be meaningful. 💛

✨Don’t wait for all the big things for life to feel good. ✨

Turn your face to the sunshine. ☀️
Feel the warmth on your skin.
Pause long enough to truly notice it.

The colors in the sky as the sun sets. 🌅
The first sip of coffee. ☕️
Your favorite song playing at just the right moment. 🎶

Receiving a message from someone you love that brightens your day. 💛
A laugh that catches you off guard and is completely genuine. 😊
A walk in the fresh spring air after a long winter. 🌿

The smell of something good cooking in the kitchen.
Fresh sheets at the end of the day.

Your dog lingering for one more pet… 🐾
or simply content to be close, because you are.

These moments… they’re not small.
They’re everything. ✨

Life isn’t made up of the big milestones we wait for—
it’s built in these beautiful, quiet, ordinary seconds
that we so often rush past.

Maybe this is your reminder today
to pause…
to take a breath…
and to notice all the good around you.

Because this is your life—right here, in this moment.

There is so much beauty here.
So much light.
So much to love. 💛

Embrace all the littles. ✨
These are the moments that create the beauty of your life.

Some losses come without warning…
and nothing feels the same after.

When someone is gone suddenly,
it can feel hard to make sense of anything.

You may find yourself in disbelief one moment,
and missing them deeply the next.

There’s no way to prepare for that kind of loss.

So if this is where you are right now,
go gently.

You don’t need to have the words.
You don’t need to have the answers.

Just take it one moment at a time.

Even here, in the middle of the unexpected,
you are finding your way—
one breath, one step, one day at a time.

Thinking of the many hearts holding loss today. 💙
One moment at a time.
