🛁 Did You Know? 🛁
Taking a hot bath or shower can actually affect your hearing! Humidity and steam can cause earwax to swell, potentially blocking your ear canal and making it harder to hear.
If you're experiencing muffled sounds after a bath, it could be swollen earwax. Don't worry, it's a common issue! Keep your ears dry and if the problem persists, we can help with professional ear cleaning.
Protect your hearing and take care of your ears! 👂💙

Your ears do a lot more than just help you hear! Here are three amazing things your ears are quietly doing every day:
1️⃣ Balance & Stability: Did you know your ears play a key role in keeping you balanced? The inner ear contains the vestibular system, which helps you stay upright and steady, whether you’re walking, running, or dancing!
2️⃣ Regulate Pressure: Ever notice how your ears “pop” on an airplane? That’s your ears working to equalize the pressure between the air outside and inside your ear, making sure you’re comfortable and not in pain.
3️⃣ Protect Your Brain from Noise: Your ears automatically filter out background noise, helping your brain focus on important sounds like conversations or music, and minimizing sensory overload.
Your ears are pretty amazing! Take care of them, and they’ll take care of you. If you haven’t checked in on your hearing health lately, now’s the perfect time! Schedule a hearing test with us today!

🔊 What is Considered a Loud Noise? 🎧
Loud noises can sneak up on us in our daily lives, often without us realizing the damage they can cause to our hearing. But how do you know when a noise is too loud? Here are some signs that you’re experiencing a noise that could be harmful:
1️⃣ You Have to Shout to Be Heard: If you’re in a situation where you need to raise your voice to communicate with someone just a few feet away, the noise level is likely too high.
2️⃣ Your Ears Feel Pain or Discomfort: If your ears hurt or feel uncomfortable while you’re in a noisy environment, it’s a clear sign that the sound is too loud and could be damaging your hearing.
3️⃣ You Hear Ringing in Your Ears Afterwards: Experiencing ringing in your ears (known as tinnitus) after being in a loud environment is a sign that your ears have been exposed to excessive noise.
4️⃣ You Can’t Hear Conversations Clearly: If background noise is so loud that it drowns out nearby conversations or makes it hard to focus, the sound level could be harmful.
5️⃣ Your Hearing Feels Muffled: If sounds seem muffled or distant after leaving a noisy area, it may indicate that your hearing has been temporarily impacted by loud noise.
Remember, frequent exposure to loud noises can cause permanent hearing loss. Protect your ears by using hearing protection in loud environments and by being aware of the noise levels around you.
