Alright, Let’s talk filler migration:

Filler migration happens when dermal filler moves from its original placement to an unintended area. Around the lips, this often means product creeping above the lip border into the skin above the mouth, creating puffiness or a blurred lip line not everyone would be able to pick this out.

Migration can be caused by many things but here are some common ones:

*Overfilling the area
*Using filler with too soft or mobile properties in a high-movement area
*Natural tissue movement over time
*Re-injecting before the previous filler has broken down can create product buildup and migration.

What dissolving involves:
The dissolving process uses an injectable enzyme called hyaluronidase. This enzyme specifically breaks down hyaluronic acid-based fillers into smaller particles that your body naturally clears away. Keep in mind the inital 24 hours after dissolving you are quite swollen however swelling will start to go down after 24 hours.

Healing period : After dissolving, you’ll usually wait 2–4 weeks before considering new filler giving your tissue time to settle.

Why dissolving is worth it when migration happens:

*Restores a clean, natural lip border
*Prevents filler from distorting your natural proportions
*Creates a better canvas if you want to start fresh with new, properly placed filler
