🌿✨ I am so grateful for the chance to apply for this scholarship through . This scholarship would allow me to continue in the Comprehensive Holistic Nurse, Nurse Coach & Consultant Certificate Program, which is designed to train nurses to bring truly whole-person care to their communities.

This program goes beyond traditional nursing. It weaves together science, coaching, and holistic approaches—helping us learn how to support clients in healing physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. As someone with a background in mental health nursing and yoga therapy, this feels like the missing piece to bring it all together.

I’m so excited about this program because it’s not just about professional development—it’s about answering a calling. Beaumont, the community I live in, doesn’t even have a physician right now. I know the skills I am learning here will allow me to fill a gap, offering care that empowers people to understand themselves more deeply, regulate their nervous systems, and make lasting changes in their health and wellness.

This scholarship would mean I can keep moving forward with this dream without the added stress of financial strain. More importantly, it means I can step into my role as a Holistic Nurse and Yoga Therapist, ready to bring much-needed services and healing to those who need it most. 💛

So many of us want instant results — less stress, better sleep, calmer minds. But here’s the truth: your nervous system doesn’t shift overnight. It’s like training a muscle — the more consistent you are, the stronger and more resilient it becomes.

Here are a few nervous system practices you can start using daily:
• 🫁 Breathwork: Try slow exhales, like inhaling for 4, exhaling for 6–8.

• 👀 Orienting practice: Look around the room and notice 5 things you see — this reminds your brain you’re safe here and now.

I’m a Holistic Nurse Coach (in training) + Yoga Therapist, and the founder of Integrative Yoga and Wellness — my space for helping people heal their minds, bodies, and nervous systems in a way that actually lasts.

Today’s nervous system regulation strategy:

Here’s the science:
When you feel overwhelmed or drained, your nervous system might be in a state of dorsal vagal shutdown—a freeze or shutdown response that says, “I can’t do more right now.”

One of the best things you can do?
Create a cocoon of safety and comfort.
This signals to your vagus nerve (the highway of your parasympathetic nervous system) that it’s okay to rest, soften, and come back to regulation.

🧘‍♀️ Cozy rest, slow breathing, soft surroundings = nervous system gold.

You don’t need to hustle to heal.
You don’t need to earn your rest.
Sometimes being a blanket-wrapped potato is the exact medicine your body needs.

This morning I unrolled my mat while camping, nestled between trees and the smell of coffee and campfire. While breakfast was sizzling, I took 15 minutes to breathe, move, and reset.

✨That’s the thing about yoga for your nervous system — it doesn’t require a studio or silence. It just needs you.
A few slow breaths. A gentle stretch. A moment of presence.
Your body knows what to do when you give it space to feel safe again.

Whether you’re on a mountain, at a lake, or in your kitchen — your nervous system loves when you pause and reconnect.
Yoga isn’t about fancy poses. It’s about coming home to yourself.

I used to feel like my body was always betraying me.
Tight chest. Racing thoughts. Sleepless nights.
I’d think, “Why can’t I just calm down?” or “What’s wrong with me?”

But the truth is…
My body wasn’t broken.
It was speaking to me.

✨ It was overwhelmed.
✨ It was trying to protect me.
✨ It was asking me to slow down and listen.

Learning to feel safe in my body — instead of trying to “fix” it — changed everything.
Now, I teach others how to do the same.

Embodied Resilience™ isn’t just about tools.

This is the definition of yoga.

Child’s Pose — a moment of surrender, safety, and softening.

In my Embodied Resilience™ program, we come back to this shape again and again. Not because it’s fancy or flashy… but because it teaches us what true regulation feels like:
👉 Grounded.
👉 Supported.
👉 Safe.

How to do Child’s Pose:
• Kneel on the mat, bring your big toes to touch, and let your knees open wide
• Sink your hips toward your heels
• Stretch your arms forward or let them rest beside your body
• Let your forehead touch the mat — or a pillow
• Breathe slowly, deeply, like you’re safe (because right now, you are)
• For added safety, you can place a blanket over your body and turn your head to the side, gazing softly in front of you

This pose isn’t about flexibility. It’s about permission — to pause, to come home to yourself, to rest.

In a world that pushes us to go, go, go… this is the radical act of softening.

Today’s practice wasn’t about pushing harder—it was about pausing.

This pose? It’s not just a stretch—it’s a message to my nervous system:
✨ You are safe.
✨ You can soften.
✨ You don’t have to do it all.

When we slow down with intention, we activate the parasympathetic nervous system—the part of us that knows how to rest, digest, and rebuild.
