No wonder so many moms get cavities after they have babies
I'm living off easy to eat, soft, full of sugar foods.
As you can see I haven't had time to brush my hair, let alone brush my teeth

Women dont get cavities from "pregnancy leaching the minerals from their teeth"
It's the high carb diet with reduced oral health care that causes the cavities - and Im likely on thay train!

Using an electric toothbrush helps remove more plaque than a manual one, and high calcium/phosphorus and fluoride toothpaste can help strengthen the enamel

I will be speaking at the Pacific Dental Conference this March on lasers in Dental hygiene 🥳

I'll be repping the University of Alberta continuing dental education - Dental hygiene division

I've got a 2pm timeslot on March 7, 2026 and who knows maybe baby will be my co-presentor 😉

I started planning out the concept of Beaumont Dental Hygiene Studio when I was 28, I opened to my first patients January 2, 2019 when I was 29.

I remember going to banks with a business plan - they would look at me and ask, "is this even legal?" , "don't you have to work for a dentist?"

I would tell friends, family, colleagues about doing a home-based Dental hygiene business and they would look at me like I was a crazy, my closest friends would tell me I was crazy.

Opening my business was hard, is still hard if I'm honest - but it was the best decision.

When I went through my divorce I really contemplated closing up, and leaving town - but it was my patients who kept coming and kept up my moral. You are the reason I've stayed.

I can't imagine working for anyone else but myself - and I am looking forward to seeing all my wonderful people again in 2026

And my body has spoken, even though I've tried to push through I cant without risking putting myself and baby at risk.
I will not be seeing anymore clients this year.
I need to relax and let my body rest.

The end is so close and exhausting and stressful

The past 9 weeks have not been easy and I'm really trying to maintain the appointments I have pre-booked.

I will not be making any new appointments for the rest of 2025.

I am sorry to anyone whose appointments I've cancelled last minute. And I hope I dont have to cancel more. If I do please know its because I really cannot be working.

Ultimately I have to listen to my body and take it easy before I meet baby

My Story

It was during my time at the University of Alberta that I decided that once I was able to, I’d become an Independent Dental Hygienist. In January 2019 that dream came true when I opened the doors and welcomed my first clients into Beaumont Dental Hygiene Studio. Both my parents are entrepreneurs, and they have helped me to launch myself into entrepreneurship. Being born and raised in Beaumont, and continuing to live in Beaumont, it seemed only natural to open my business in Beaumont. I aim to cater my services to people who are looking to change their dental hygiene experience. I am here to service anyone who requires dental hygiene therapy in the City of Beaumont and the surrounding communities.

When you book an appointment with Beaumont Dental Hygiene Studio you are supporting a local family and a born and raised in Beaumont girl, whose dream it was to be her own boss and do what she loves. I hope to see you soon!
