If summer had a sound it'd be children laughing in a park, or waves crashing on the beach. It'd be the rustling of hands in paper bags of fresh treats from our place, sticky fingers being licked and the sweet silence of happy mouths & happy bellies while everyone enjoyed their goodies.

Keep soaking it all up, friends. Summer always goes too quick.

This is our dad & Ev circa ~2001. While lots has changed since then, lots hasn't. The two of them are still incredibly close, he is still as handy now as he was then and we're pretty sure he still owns that shirt.

For those of you that don't know, our dad is pretty behind the scenes but deeply involved in the bakeshop story. He built the shop with Ev. She learned the basics of how to be a construction assistant and he in turn learned how to make bread.
He is still our go to fix it guy, the best dishwasher and floor cleaner we've ever had and an all around great guy. He is dependable, kind, supportive and giving. Today & every day, we consider ourselves pretty lucky to know and love someone like him. So happy Father's Day to all, we hope you're enjoying a wonderful sunny Sunday afternoon 🩷

Let's talk TIPS!

Okay, so this is obviously a sensitive subject but we just wanted to make ourselves known.

You may have noticed, if you've visited us, that we typically DON'T turn our sales screen around with a tipping option. We are not a tipless business and it doesn't matter if it's a single black coffee, a dozen treats or half a dozen latte's, unless you ask us, we will not default to the expectation that you want to add a tip. This is absolutely NOT the industry standard but it is what we choose to do in our space.

That being said, we LOVE tips! Who wouldn't? If you think that our service is spectacular, or our company is pleasant, maybe that our coffee or our treats are just the best- and it is within your means to add a little bonus- please feel free to ask, we truly appreciate anything you can give.
Or if you have change, we have a tip jar, we love cash too!

We are just deeply uncomfortable with the current standard that a tipping option should be offered at all times, for all transactions and we do not ever want someone to feel pressured or guilted into tipping us.

We all work hard for our money and it it is due to that fact that we are trying to uphold a high threshold of respect and integrity especially in regards to tipping culture.

So please, tip if you can, what you can & if you can't- we never expected it anyway. We are grateful for anything and we hope that with actions like this we can continue to make our little pocket of the world better today than it was yesterday 💜

We're all feeling it, please support local now more than ever 🫶

In these uncertain times remember to always support local. Your small businesses NEED YOU!
If big box stores are already reporting their sales are down what do you think your adorable little stores in town are doing?!

Remember when you look at your kids little league teams jerseys, skating sponsors, dance fundraiser etc… who’s on the back of those jerseys?! Your local small businesses…. Not your big box stores!

When your local sports team needs something for a banquet or your school fundraiser needs something donated…. What businesses you’re going to?!

We are there! We are always there! And if you want us to continue to be there, I urge you to get out and support them in any way you can. The world is tough and we are all struggling. But we are here for you and we NEED YOU to be there for us!

Like a post, share a post, post a review, but something small, refer us to a friend. It doesn’t have to be big. Even stop in and say hi 👋

Between the winter that doesn’t seem to want to end (so someone please take mother natures drink away and hand her a damn coffee she’s drunk) the economy and everyone isn’t sure what’s going to happen your small business are scared. We are all just trying to navigate and figure our way. But times are tough and sales are all down across the board. Big box stores, small stores, restaurants are even struggling so much!

So please when you’re online shopping or planning on stopping at a big box store, stop and think maybe something small in town has what I am looking for. Because we probably do! And we are here for you!

We appreciate you and need you! Especially now!

The long weekend is here and we are STOCKED!

Drop in, we still have tea, coffee, cookies, croissants, cappuccinos 🤤🤤🤤etc-
but we have some new libations too!

All Canadian, ice cold in our fridge just waiting for you to come find them!

And, as if that wasn't enough. We are once again hosting with her BEAUTIFUL tulip bouquets!
