For big kids, teens, and adults, avoid using as much toothpaste as you see in an ad! Too much foam can trigger you to stop brushing before the two minutes are up since you’ll need to spit sooner. Toothpaste the size of a pea should be sufficient to get enough foam to thoroughly clean your mouth.

Dental sealants offer a thin barrier of protection against cavities. Sealants can be applied to the chewing surface of molars and premolars as soon as the adult teeth come in, and can last for several years.

Some experts think that babies grind their teeth when they are teething, have an earache or an allergy, or they might just be testing out their new teeth. One simple way to check if you’ve done a good job brushing and flossing is the tongue test! Run your tongue across the surface of your teeth, especially at the gum line. If you find any areas that don’t feel smooth and slick, you may need to give those areas some extra attention!
