Happy International Women’s Day 💙 Today, we celebrate the strength, achievements and contributions of women everywhere! As a female-founded, owned and operated Optometry practice since 1984, we’re proud to be part of a legacy of women leading the way in eye care.
In honour of this special day, let’s learn a little bit more about our amazing team of doctors at Bedford Eye Care ⬇️
👁 Dr Cox began working at Bedford Eye Care in 1998. Knowing this office was a great fit for her, Dr. Cox stayed on and became a partner in 2004. She is currently co-chair of the Practice Enhancement committee for the Nova Scotia College of Optometrists.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
👁 Dr Sheppard became an owner doctor at Bedford Eye Care in 2012. She is past Chair of the Board of the Nova Scotia College of Optometrists and provides both routine and post concussion optometric care.
👁 Dr McLeod got her Doctor of Optometry in 2006, worked in private practice in both Ontario and her home province of New Brunswick. She joined the Bedford Eye Care team in 2014, becoming a partner in 2015. She is currently co-chair of the Practice Enhancement committee for the Nova Scotia College of Optometrists.
👁 Dr. Matthews has a special interest in providing pediatric care as she herself got her first pair of glasses at the age of 5. She became a partner in January 2019
👁 Dr McMullin gained wonderful practice experience with training at the Parkland Hospital in Texas, eye care missions in Mexico/Jamaica, and private practice in both rural and urban Nova Scotia before joining the Bedford Eye Care group in 2018 and becoming an owner in 2022
👁 Dr. MacPhee had the privilege of completing extensive clinical rotations in Specialty Contact Lenses in Melbourne, Australia and Ocular Disease in Miami, Florida. She travelled to Senegal in 2018 to provide eye care to the local people.
We are so grateful to our team and entire staff, today and every day 🙌🏼
