πŸ“˜ Patient Education Tuesday

Why do preparation instructions matter?

Before your imaging appointment, you may be given specific instructions β€” such as fasting, drinking water, or avoiding certain products.

These instructions are not random β€” they are essential to getting clear and accurate images.

πŸ‘‰ For example:
βœ” A full bladder helps improve pelvic ultrasound images
βœ” Fasting can be important for certain abdominal studies
βœ” Avoiding deodorant or lotions is necessary for mammograms

If preparation instructions are not followed, it may:

❗ Affect image quality
❗ Delay your exam
❗ Require the study to be rescheduled

Following your prep instructions helps ensure your exam can be completed properly and your physician receives the information they need.

We share this information to help reduce anxiety and improve your experience.

Mammogram Monday (Recall Reassurance)

Being called back for additional imaging after a mammogram can feel stressful β€” but in many cases, it is completely normal.

Sometimes, the radiologist may recommend additional images or an ultrasound to take a closer look. This can happen for a variety of reasons, including:

βœ” Normal breast tissue overlap
βœ” Hormonal changes
βœ” Areas that simply need a clearer view

A recall does not mean you have breast cancer.

It means the radiologist wants to ensure they have the most accurate and complete information.

At Belle River Diagnostic Imaging, we understand that recalls can cause anxiety, and our team is here to guide you through the process with care and support.

Early detection and thorough evaluation are key parts of breast health.

πŸ₯ Who We Are | What We Do

What makes a community diagnostic imaging clinic different?

At Belle River Diagnostic Imaging, we are part of the community we serve.

That means:

βœ” Providing care close to home
βœ” Offering timely access to important diagnostic studies
βœ” Working closely with local physicians and healthcare providers
βœ” Supporting patients through every step of their imaging journey

Community-based clinics play an important role in helping patients access care more efficiently, while supporting the broader healthcare system.

We’re proud to be part of that care network β€” right here in Windsor–Essex.

πŸ“˜ Patient Education Tuesday – X-ray

If you’re coming in for an X-ray, here’s what to expect:

X-rays are one of the most common and quick diagnostic imaging tests used to look at bones and certain parts of the body.

πŸ‘‰ Before your exam:
βœ” You may be asked to remove jewelry or metal objects
βœ” Depending on the area being imaged, you may need to change into a gown

πŸ‘‰ During your exam:

A technologist will position you carefully to capture the correct images
You may be asked to hold still or briefly hold your breath
Some images can take less than a minute, while others may take a bit longer depending on the study

Each image is important to ensure your physician receives accurate information to guide your care.

We share this information to help reduce anxiety around diagnostic imaging.
