What if food wasn’t just food but a signal of safety to your body? In the world of don’t eat carbs and sugar is bad and fast all day, we’re seeing people starving themselves in the name of ā€œhealthā€.

Taking out major food groups, skipping meals, while your body screams for nutrients.

I had a client cry when I said ā€œcarbs aren’t bad, you need to eat them for your hormones to work wellā€.

She didn’t know why the salt water was pouring down her cheeks, but I did.

Her body said ā€œomg finallyā€.

Eating enough quality food, at consistent times, sends a signal to your brain that says, ā€œI’m safeā€.

That signal of safety is what allows your body to heal, repair, and come into good health.

If you’re in fight or flight, your body can’t digest or absorb nutrients from your food. Meaning, you can eat the healthiest diet but not get any nutrition into your body. And potentially feed the unhealthy bacteria and promote inflammation. Being relaxed, chewing your food, and welcoming the nutrients in alongside a healthy diet is key 🌱

Here’s why I’m obsessed with the whole, you do you thing šŸ‘‡

Because it’s the WHOLE point

Why we get health issues, why we’re stressed, why we don’t feel like ourselves, why we’re tired, why we feel like s**t - it’s because you’re not doing the you thing.

It seems counterintuitive when most of the health world is preaching what you what you should do. You should eat this, you should exercise this much in this way, you should meditate like this, you should not use that product … on and on and on.

When we approach our health in that way, it can have the opposite effect. It puts too much pressure on our nervous systems and becomes a stressor for the body.

Real health is giving our bodies what we need.

It’s how we rebuild our relationship with our bodies.
How we create safety. How we set ourselves up to heal. How we pave the path to truly thriving in all aspects of our lives.

What’s killing our health more than crappy food, environmental toxins, and stress - forcing your body to do the things it doesn’t need or want.

Whether a client is working with me on their nutrition and health issues, or with breathwork and nervous system, our main focus is always getting them get back to themselves.

When we finally have space to be ourselves everything changes ✨🌱

Hear me out: your body didn’t get this way ā€œjust causeā€. The medical system will tell you your symptoms are ā€˜random’ and there’s nothing you can do. The holistic health model will tell you your diet is the problem and you need to control what you eat.

What I see: the body uses symptoms to get our attention, to tell us ā€œI don’t have what I needā€

šŸ‘‰ If you were to fully honest with yourself, are you taking care of you?! Fully truly!? Resting when you need. Eating foods that love you back. Doing things you love. Space in your day. Sleeping. Moving. Saying what you need to say. Being kind to yourself.

You can chase answers and quick fixes all day long. Get frustrated at your body for ā€œnot workingā€ā€¦ but underneath, all your body wants is for you to be a team.

It’s wild how we’ve been led to believe a box of grains that’s been sprayed with chemicals, sent through a processor, stripped of nutrients, then man made ones added back in (aka your box of cereal) is better than getting a chunk of 100% beef from the farmer down the road.

This. Is. Real. Food. - protein, fibre, carbs, micro nutrients - to stabilize my blood sugar and provide my body with nutrients for the day.
