September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.

Childhood should be filled with sleepovers, learning to swim, birthday candles, and late-night giggles. But for kids facing blood cancer, those simple moments are too often replaced with hospital rooms, treatments, and uncertainty.

At the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada, we’re working so that every child can have the milestones and memories they deserve. By funding life-saving research and offering support programs for families, we’re bringing hope to kids and parents across Canada.

This month, we honour the courage of children with blood cancer, stand beside their families, and look ahead to a future where more kids can simply be kids.

Come Light the Night with us on Saturday October 4th from 6-8pm @ West Zwicks Park in the Lions Pavillion. Register as an individual, a team or join a team. Help us raise funds for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada. Helps us support people in our community impacted by blood cancer.

LLSC is the largest voluntary health agency dedicated to funding blood cancer research, advocating for equitable access to treatment, and offering support services to those affected in Canada.

This September, we recognize Blood Cancer Awareness Month.

Did you know there are more than 137 types of blood cancers and related disorders? These include leukemia, lymphoma, myeloma, myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS), myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPNs), and many others.

Each affects the way blood cells are produced and function, disrupting vital processes like oxygen delivery and immune response.

While each diagnosis is unique, they all have one thing in common: they change lives.

That’s why the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada is here year-round—to fund life-saving research, provide personalized support, and advocate for Canadians impacted.
