Looking to connect with CMHS?

We welcome referrals from youth, parents, and community partners. You can reach us by phone, fax, our website referral form, or through our virtual Rapid Response Service. Once we have consent from the youth (12+) and caregivers, our team will guide you through the process and schedule a telephone intake. A counsellor will then contact you to learn more about your concerns, goals, and how we can best support your child. While you wait, we’ll offer guidance to help you support your child at home.

At CMHS, we believe children and youth thrive with strong caregiver involvement. Your participation is a vital part of the journey.

If you’re in distress while waiting, our Rapid Response Service is here to help.

We were proud to partner with Youthhab for the 2025 Youth Awards, an incredible evening dedicated to honouring the strength, perseverance, and achievements of our young people.
This year's awards celebrated youth who have gone above and beyond — showing resilience, leadership, and a commitment to growth despite challenges. Their hard work doesn’t go unnoticed, and we couldn’t be more inspired by their journeys. ✨

🌻 Invisible Disabilities Week | Oct 19–25, 2025

Globally, 1 in 6 people live with a disability—and up to 80% of those are invisible. That’s over 1 billion people living with conditions that aren’t immediately apparent, including neurological, cognitive, and neurodevelopmental disorders; chronic illnesses like asthma and diabetes; sensory and processing challenges; and mental health conditions like anxiety or depression. These disabilities can be temporary, situational, or lifelong—but the barriers faced are real.

At CMHS, we support children, youth, and families navigating invisible disabilities with compassion and care.

During Invisible Disabilities Week, let’s raise awareness, challenge assumptions, and build a world where support is based on needs—not appearances. 💛 Use to help spread the message.

🌍🧠 October 10 is World Mental Health Day

This global day is about raising awareness, taking action, and promoting access. At CMHS, we’re committed to making mental health care a reality for children, youth, and families in our community.

Support is available, and healing is possible.

Let’s keep the conversation going. Let’s build a world where mental health is treated with the same urgency and care as physical health.

🧠 Mental Illness Awareness Week is October 5–11, 2025

This week is a national call to open our eyes to the reality of mental illness and the need for accessible, barrier-free mental health care for all. Founded by the Canadian Psychiatric Association and now led by CAMIMH, Mental Illness Awareness Week helps break stigma and spark conversations across the country.

At CMHS, we’re proud to stand alongside children, youth, and families—working toward a future where no one feels alone in their mental health journey.

October is Dyslexia Awareness Month!

We’re proud to join and communities across the country to —shining a light on a learning difference that affects 10–20% of Canadians.

Dyslexia is more than just difficulty reading. It’s often misunderstood, underdiagnosed, and can impact a child’s confidence and mental health.

At CMHS, we believe every child deserves:
❣️Understanding, not judgment
❣️Support, not stigma
❣️Tools to succeed in school and in life

October 8 is International Dyslexia Awareness Day. Let’s raise awareness, start conversations, and support youth with learning differences.

September 30 – National Day for Truth and Reconciliation & Orange Shirt Day

Today, we honour the children who never returned home, Survivors of residential schools, and the generations of Indigenous families and communities impacted by these injustices.

🧡 Wearing orange is a symbol of truth, remembrance, and the commitment that Every Child Matters.
📚 This day is also a time to reflect on the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s 94 Calls to Action—including Call to Action 80, which created this federal day of commemoration.

CMHS stands in solidarity with Indigenous peoples in truth-telling, listening, and working toward reconciliation in both mental health and community healing.
