The Yoga Strong practice is a coordinated series of challenging, slow-moving, controlled muscle-building workouts. Itโ€™s everything we need in a yoga class to help improve mobility while toning and shaping muscle.

Yoga, by itself, doesnโ€™t make us strong enough for essential life vitality. As we age, we naturally lose muscle mass and with it the ability to do the things we want to be able to do for the rest of our life. But you donโ€™t have to lose that muscle mass!

When you build muscle, your body naturally burns more glucose, even at rest; increases bone density; and demonstrates more muscle definition. As you get stronger you will also notice that your balance improves. Strength training doesnโ€™t just enhance the benefits of yoga, it also increases a yogiโ€™s ability to achieve challenging poses and perform daily activities with less fatigue.

Yin Yoga is the Yoga style that utilizes gentle passive stretch to access your deep joint tissue and increase your flexibility more profoundly than the dynamic styles of Yoga. It is an excellent means of rounding out your active Yoga practice.

Adding a Yin Yoga, quieter aspect to your healthy lifestyle practice can introduce you to the possibility of physical/ emotional/ mental equilibrium by offsetting the more intense aspects of life with the Yin softer more contemplative modes of life.

A regular Yin yoga practice will help you to evolve your ability to open up and connect with your life/ yoga experience as it is, rather than holding on to resistance.

AnnMarie Wolf retired from a fulfilling career as a Secondary School Healthy Active Living teacher in June of 2014 and the very next day began her studies in yoga teacher training becoming a certified Vinyasa/Hatha yoga teacher in 2015. AnnMarieโ€™s love of yoga led her to continuing yoga education in restorative yoga, therapeutic yoga, roll model therapy, yoga for seniors and yin yoga. Although her passion in bringing the magic of yoga to her peeps, the Baby Boomers, her classes are designed for people of all ages and body types, with varied challenges in strength, agility, balance, flexibility, and mental focus. This series introduces the fundamental principles of yoga, pose alignment and breath work. Students will be introduced to yoga asanas (postures) through a step-by-step progression into the version of the pose that best suits each studentโ€™s personal skill level. Emphasis is placed on student understanding, safety, and stability within each pose.

If you have never tried yoga, this series is perfect for you. The course is designed to meet the needs of those new to yoga as well as those seeking deeper understanding of basic yoga poses.
