Welcome to the Belleville Nurse Practitioner-Led Clinic
We are an inter-professional, team-based primary care clinic that provides registered patients with access to a number of health services. Our team is comprised of:
- 4 Nurse Practitioners
- 2 Registered Nurses
- Pharmacist
- Dietician
- Social Worker
- Administrative Lead
- Financial Executive Assistant
- 2 Receptionists
We also have two consulting physicians who support the provision of medical services that may be beyond the nurse practitioners’ scope of practice. What is a Nurse Practitioner?
“A Registered Nurse in the Extended Class. (Nurse Practitioner) are registered nurses with additional education and experience who are able to order and interpret diagnostic tests, communicate diagnoses, prescribe pharmaceuticals and perform specific procedures." NPs practice nursing, the goal of which is to restore, maintain and advance the health of individuals, groups or communities. They emphasize health promotion as well as illness/injury prevention and complement rather than replace the care delivered by other health providers. In addition to providing a wide range of health care services to patients, NPs also help patients to access other health and social services that they may require. NPs work collaboratively with many other health professionals. In particular, they consult with physicians, as required by the needs of their patients. As of August 2007, the title Nurse Practitioner became a protected title in Ontario. Only nurses in the Extended Class can use this title. There are four NP specialty certificates in the Extended Class: NP-Primary Health Care, NP-Pediatrics, NP-Adult and NP-Anesthesia.”

How can I become a patient of BNPLC? We ask all prospective patients of the clinic to contact Health Care Connect to be added to their wait list. Health Care Connect adds all patients who no longer have primary health care to a wait list. A member of the Health Care Connect Team or BNPLC will contact you with an appointment time once one becomes available. Patients of the clinic will have access to all preventative care programs offered by the clinic. It is our mission to put patients first and, in doing so, we make every effort to offer accessible health care when it is needed most. If you have an acute illness or injury that requires immediate attention we will do our absolute best to offer you an appointment with a Nurse Practitioner or relevant Integrated Health Care Professional within 24 hours of your initial contact with our office.
