A Supportive Space for Children Navigating Grief 🧡

Losing someone you love is never easy- especially for a child. Our Children’s Grief Support Group offers a safe, compassionate space for children ages 6–11 who have experienced the expected death of a loved one within the past three years.

This ongoing monthly program provides gentle, activity-based sessions where children can express their feelings, connect with others who understand their experience, and build healthy coping skills in a supportive environment.

Each session begins with a 30-minute shared meal, helping create a sense of comfort, routine, and belonging before activities begin.

✨ This is more than a program, it’s a place where children can feel seen, supported, and less alone in their grief.

🤝 You don’t have to do this alone

If you're supporting a loved one with a life-limiting illness, Hospice Quinte’s "Because We Care" Caregiver Support Group is here for you. This safe, compassionate space is where caregivers come together to share, listen, and find comfort in knowing they’re not alone.

Together, we’ll explore the topics that matter most:
- Coming to terms with what’s happening
- Taking care of yourself while caring for others
- Building a strong support network
- Navigating the physical and emotional challenges of caregiving

Whether you’re navigating stress, grief, or uncertainty, this group offers a confidential place to express your thoughts, concerns, and challenges. All while receiving support in return.

Thank You for an Incredible Expo! 💜

A heartfelt thank you to all of our amazing vendors, attendees, speakers, sponsors, and volunteers who made the 4th Annual Eastern Ontario Caregiver Expo such a success!

With nearly 180 attendees and close to 60 vendor booths, this year’s event truly showed the strength, compassion, and connection within our community. We’re so grateful to everyone who helped create such a welcoming and informative space for caregivers and families.

Your knowledge and steady presence bring comfort and reassurance during some of life’s most difficult moments.

At Hospice Quinte, your role is especially meaningful. You provide not only expert medical care, but also dignity, empathy, and support to individuals and families navigating end-of-life journeys. Your ability to listen, guide, and care with such compassion leaves a lasting impact that will never be forgotten.

This National Volunteers Week, we pause to honour the quiet, powerful force at the heart of Hospice Quinte - our volunteers.

They are the first smile you see when you walk through our doors, greeting you with warmth that immediately feels like home. They are the steady, compassionate presence beside residents and families, offering comfort in moments that matter most. They are the hands behind the scenes, planning events, organizing, lifting, and showing up again and again to ensure no one walks this journey alone.

They are in our kitchen each day, preparing fresh soups and baking with care, filling not just plates, but hearts. They are leaders and listeners, including our dedicated volunteer board members who help guide our mission forward with vision and commitment. They are our champions in the community, helping us raise the vital funds that make this care possible.

Every role, every hour, every act of kindness weaves into something deeply meaningful - something felt in every interaction, large and small

And while this week gives us a chance to recognize them, we deeply appreciate our volunteers every single day.
