Let’s talk about what deep or hard means in massage.

"I want deep tissue." It's one of the most common requests massage therapists hear, delivered with the certainty that comes from knowing exactly what you want. But when we start examining what “deep tissue” really refers to, the concept quickly becomes slippery. Is it about how far into

The happenings in the U.S. is a forewarning.

Removing professional credentials of nurses, social workers, etc - will put the safety of children, elderly and adults with disabilities at serious risk.
Removing mandates to report- leaves children alone without help.

This act says, we don’t care as a society to maintain laws and regulations to protect our most vulnerable humans.

What to do?
Build your community. Support it in the ways you can. Participate in it. Sign up for local volunteer organizations, volunteer at schools, support educators and social programs through your voice and wallet.

Talk to other parents in your school and work, engage with teachers and staff. Same with retirement centres, group homes and nursing homes. Become involved.

Talk to your humans about safety and consent, and continue building relationships that foster strength and resilience, while also being available to offer a hand or a shoulder to lean on and your time to listen.
Check-in in your humans. Mental, emotional and physical health.

PS. You do not need to be all these things on your own. That’s my point. Build relationships that offer you a calming sense of safety, security and comfort.

Our engagement on a local community level will need to increase to protect our most vulnerable humans as our expectations and access to quality public services continues to decline.

What’s happening here in Ontario!
The Ford government recently passed a bill that will impact our public education system.
