On this night 114 years ago the RMS Titanic, a British ocean liner, sank in the North Atlantic Ocean after striking an iceberg during its maiden voyage. The sinking resulted in the deaths of over 1,500 of the 2,240 passengers and crew on board.

It was reported that the orchestra played the hymn "Nearer my God to Thee" right up until the ship sunk beneath the waves. 🎻

May their souls and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, Rest in peace. 🕊💐
