A near and dear issue! We need our provincial vets to help with these situations. Our government is taking them away from us! Reach out to Susan Holt our premier and let her know your concerns! You can sign the petition here: https://c.org/pjM5Gqbbhk
Another post WHY we can't lose our provincial vet service.. we had a twisted calf so I called the after hours line and vet elizabeth called me back within 3 minutes and was here in less then 30 minutes and we tried everything to flip that calf but couldnt so we decided a emergency C section and vet Nolan was in the area so he showed up and helped. The outcome would have been alot different today if I couldnt of made a phone call to to our provincial vet service.

These vets are not just โfarm vets.โ They are the frontline protection for:
๐ The health and welfare of our livestock
๐ฅ The safety of our milk and food supply
๐ฆ Disease prevention and outbreak control
๐พ The stability of local agriculture and food production
Without them, farmers like us are left with fewer resources, longer response times in emergencies, and less support to keep animals healthy.
But this isnโt just a farming issue.
This impacts **every family who eats food produced in our province**.
If something goes wrong โ disease, contamination, or animal health issues โ these are the people and labs that catch it early and keep it from becoming a much bigger problem.
Removing them puts our farms, our food system, and our rural communities at risk.
