Well the time change is here again and also time to change the batteries in your smoke and Co2 detectors.
Also check the date on the panel beside the battery door. If your detector is more than 10 years old it is recommended that you replace your old with a new one as they become unreliable if 10 years or older.
Keep in mind that you can now get combination smoke and Co2 detectors with a one time ten year battery lifespan.

I know it is still early in the season but Boat U.S. has posted a caution that i am passing on. In 2018 The Kidde Company recalled about 30 million fire extinguishers. Before you start your boating season check please check to see if your extinguisher was on the recall list. If You are unsure if your extinguisher is on the list i would be happy to verify for you.

The new combination Smoke and Carbon Monoxide detectors make things even easier for the home owner. These units actually talk to you about the risk detected. It is the holiday season and we have our decorations out and cooking for family, when everybody gets together.
Make sure you have working smoke detectors and the new law requires everybody to have working C02 detectors.

Remember March 11 the time "springs ahead". This is a perfect reminder to check all our smoke alarms and co2 detectors. Check their function and make sure that you have new batteries installed.
Also check your fire extinguishers and make sure that they are current as they do expire. Also the Kidde Fire Extinguisher company has recalled over 30,000,000 of their units. A lot of you may have these in your homes, cottages, trailers and boats.
