Cortisol addiction is more common than you may think! For some of us, it feels good to achieve, create, grind, and hustle! None of those are a bad thing, either! Things start to spiral when the body can’t break away from stress. So even when we should be chillin’ on the couch for family movie night, our body can’t settle down and is constantly pumping stress hormones.
This isn’t necessarily a hormonal problem... It’s actually a nervous system dysregulation issue! Why? Because the nervous system is the master controller of everything, including hormonal regulation! Once our body feels safe enough to enter a state of calm, that’s when cortisol will be told that it’s okay to press pause and let the other hormones do their jobs!
