Unfortunately, a provincial fire ban has been put in place starting today, so we have to cancel our Sacred Fire Ceremony. It's so disappointing, so many people were looking forward to it. I hope you will take some time to celebrate the Full Moon and Summer Solstice in your own way. Lets hold all those who are dealing with forest fires (in Labrador and other places), so much love and blessings of safety, harmony and balance. 🔥☀️🌦💧.

When death comes
like the hungry bear in autumn;
when death comes and takes all the bright coins from his purse
to buy me, and snaps the purse shut;
when death comes
like the measles-pox;
when death comes
like an iceberg between the shoulder blades,
I want to step through the door full of curiosity, wondering:
what is it going to be like, that cottage of darkness?
And therefore I look upon everything
as a brotherhood and a sisterhood,
and I look upon time as no more than an idea,

As 2024 dawns with a personal and collective sense of wonder (that we have made it this far), and also a bit of anxiety (or dare I say, excitement!) about what this new year might bring, many of us are being personally and profoundly reminded of the fragility, uncertainty, and thus the preciousness of life.
Death has visited my family this winter and again this week. I am deeply grateful for the shamanic death rite wisdom and practices that help me be more present to the experience of loss and all it entails. And even more aware of what it means to help those at the end of life to make that transition more peacefully, full of light. Over time, the roots grow deeper and the light expands into everything it touches. In this season of giving, I am reminded that this is a gift that is more precious than any other I could possibly give, or receive.
And because I want to make full use of my limited time in St. John's and share this work with as many as possible, I am opening up the Friday evening session as a FREE seminar. This session will give you an overview of the dying consciously work, and a taste of the experiential processes involved in the weekend training intensive. If you are curious to learn more, and can come, I hope you will join me. Feel free to extend this invitation on to your friends or family who may also be interested.
If you are called to do the weekend intensive, a reminder that this is an accredited training, and the hours can count towards your continuing professional development.
