📣 We’re Hiring: Bookkeeper (Part-Time)

The Bowen Island Community Health Centre is looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our team.

This is a meaningful opportunity to contribute to the financial stewardship of a community-based health centre that supports the well-being of Bowen Island residents. You’ll play a key role in ensuring strong financial operations while working alongside a collaborative and dedicated team.

📍 Location: Bowen Island, BC
⏰ Hours: Part-time (~16 hours/week)
💼 Focus: Full-cycle bookkeeping, payroll, financial reporting, and supporting day-to-day operations
We’re looking for someone who is:
✔ Experienced in full-cycle bookkeeping
✔ Highly organized and detail-oriented
✔ Comfortable working independently and as part of a small team
✔ Interested in contributing to community-based healthcare

Update from the Bowen Island Community Health Centre

The Health Centre recently transitioned to a new clinical system called TELUS CHR.

As part of this change, patients who have consented to receive email communication from us may receive an invitation from TELUS Health to create a secure patient account. Some of these emails may come from .com — these messages are legitimate and connected to the Health Centre.

We know unexpected emails can sometimes look suspicious, so we wanted to let our community know that these messages are part of our new secure system.

Once your account is set up, you will be able to receive:
• Appointment confirmations
• Appointment reminders
• Secure messages from your Family Physician or Nurse Practitioner

You can set up your account using the TELUS Health Connect app, or by logging in on a computer at:

thconnect.telushealth.com

If you receive a message you are unsure about, please contact the Health Centre and our team will be happy to confirm it.

Foundry concurrent disorders clinician Shannon Eberts (RCC) will be at the health centre on March 17th and 24th (the Tuesdays in spring break) 10am-5pm. Shannon is taking appointments for youth aged 12-24 to talk about any questions, concerns, or struggles with their mental health, substance use, or both.

Appointments are also available for the parents & caregivers of youth aged 12-24 who would like to talk with someone about a youth in their life who is struggling with their mental health and/or substance use.

Drop-in times may be available if all appointment slots are not booked, but reserving a time is strongly recommended.
