SIMON KING has been called "one of the greatest comedians of his generation" and it's easy to see why. With credits including HBO, Just For Laughs, CBC, CTV, Comedy Central, Comedy Network, Winnipeg Comedy Festival, Las Vegas Comedy Festival (To name just a few) this comedy veteran brings a unique, edgy, energetic, intelligent style to the stage that is unmatched anywhere in stand up comedy.

Mark Smith is a 20-year stand-up veteran, producer, and enthusiastic host who can light up any stage—indoor, outdoor, or online. Even on short notice, Mark brings his "A" game and can ensure a High Energy Showcase of Comedians and Comedy alike. He created and runs Stand Up For Recovery, a community-driven comedy series that regularly fills rooms across BC (North Vancouver, Maple Ridge, Recovery Day BC, North Shore Round Up). Mark is a five-year Fringe Festival touring alumni who has played clubs nationwide. He delivers tight 20–30 minute feature sets. Through his vast Network of Performers, he can provide up to a full day of entertainment that is Guaranteed to lift your Spirits.

Check out our tree in the Forest of Miracles!

Each winter, the Dundarave Festival of Lights transforms West Vancouver’s waterfront into the Forest of Miracles, a collection of Christmas trees decorated by local organizations, families, and community groups. The Forest of Miracles raises awareness and vital funds in support of ending homelessness through The Lookout Society and the Hollyburn Society.

Every year, Orchard Recovery Center is proud to have a tree in the forest. If you live nearby, we invite you to take an evening walk through Dundarave, enjoy the lights, and explore the many beautifully decorated trees. This year our tree is decorated with butterflies, representing the transformative journey of recovery!

This past weekend, many people around the world celebrated Día de los Mu***os (Day of the Dead), a time to honor and remember loved ones who have passed.

At Orchard, we take a moment to reflect on those we’ve lost and express gratitude for them and the ways they continue to inspire strength in our lives.

May we carry their memories forward with love and light.

THE FIRST 10 ORCHARD ALUMNI TO VISIT US AT OUR BOOTH WILL RECEIVE A FREE TICKET TO THE EVENING COMEDY GALA!

• 3:30–6:30 PM: Recovery Home Appreciation Day meet and greet (free admission)
• 7:00 PM: Stand Up for Recovery comedy showcase (Doors open @ 6:00)
• Tickets: $20 for the evening show

Join us Sunday, October 26, 2025 at Centennial Theatre, 2300 Lonsdale Ave, North Vancouver.

Come meet members of the recovery community, enjoy live music, and a stand up comedy gala. Representatives from recovery homes across the Lower Mainland will be available to connect with anyone interested in recovery, whether for personal reasons or to support a friend.

The Meet and Greet is free to attend, and everyone is welcome.

Then stay for the evening event, Stand Up for Recovery – A Showcase Comedy Gala, hosted by Mark Smith and featuring comedians Simon King, Ivan Decker, and more.

Tickets are $20 and available at the door.
