October is AAC Awareness Month 💬

At Connect2Communicate, we proudly support individuals who use Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) to express themselves and connect with the world around them.

AAC encompasses a wide range of tools and strategies — from picture symbols and communication boards to advanced speech-generating devices — all designed to support and enhance communication for those who need it.

Our Speech-Language Pathologists and Communicative Disorders Assistants are dedicated to helping AAC users and their families develop personalized systems that build confidence, independence, and meaningful participation in everyday life.

This month, and every month, we celebrate and advocate for all forms of communication — because every voice deserves to be heard. 💙

Reading and writing are among the most complex forms of language and are closely linked to a child’s early speech and language development. While the connection is not always widely recognized, Speech-Language Pathologists are uniquely trained to assess and treat reading and writing disorders. These services are often covered by extended health benefits. If your child needs support with literacy development, we encourage you to contact us for more information.

As April draws to a close, we invite you to reflect on this question: What distinguishes Autism awareness from Autism acceptance?

Today, public awareness of Autism is at an all-time high. But acceptance takes it a step further—it means recognizing and valuing autistic individuals for who they truly are, and respecting their unique experiences. By embracing not just awareness but also acceptance, we can work together to build a more inclusive world—one that celebrates our differences, rather than just acknowledges them.

As we head into May and beyond, we remain committed to advocating for our Autistic clients, friends, family members, and the broader Autistic community.

On April 2nd, we celebrate World Autism Awareness & Acceptance Day!!! ♾️🌈♾️

Our staff here at C2C continue to have the pleasure supporting our Autistic clients on a daily basis.
We couldn’t be luckier to know and work with these clients, all wonderfully unique with incredible strengths.

Today, and every day all year round, we continue to support, advocate and truly accept these children for who they are, as with diversity, comes power and strength.

Last night our wonderful C2C staff had the chance to unwind a bit at our Holiday Dinner. It was a great evening with great food, great laughs and even better company. Another fantastic year has gone by and C2C wouldn’t be the same without each and every one of you incredible women!! Thank you for all you do!! ❤️🙏❤️
