Same goal.
Different roles.
Knowing who does what makes finding support much less confusing.

ADHD is everywhere right now — but not everything that feels like ADHD actually is. That’s why a thoughtful, thorough assessment matters. The goal is not just a label. It’s understanding the full picture so you can find support and strategies that actually fit.

ADHD doesn’t disappear — it evolves.
With the right support, people grow into themselves.

Autism awareness isn’t the goal anymore.
Understanding is.

Not all autistic people avoid eye contact.
Some do. Some don’t. Some force it. Some learn it.

Eye contact doesn’t tell you who someone is.
It doesn’t define autism.

It’s just not that simple.

Autistic people don’t lack empathy.
Many experience hyper-empathy (feeling everything intensely, sometimes overwhelmingly).

Some also have alexithymia (difficulty identifying or describing emotions), which can make feelings harder to name or express.

It’s not less feeling.
It’s often more — just misunderstood.

Ever catch a smell that instantly takes you somewhere else?

Not just a place
A time

A classroom
A summer night
Or even a person you haven’t thought about in years

Sometimes it’s something as simple as a cologne or perfume
And suddenly you’re right back there
Remembering exactly how that person made you feel

That’s not just nostalgia

Your sense of smell is the only sense that has a direct pathway to the brain’s emotional and memory centres
(specifically the amygdala and hippocampus)

Most other senses get “filtered” first
Smell doesn’t

So when you encounter a scent
it skips the usual processing
and goes straight to the part of your brain that stores emotion and memory

That’s why it feels so immediate
So vivid
And sometimes overwhelming

It doesn’t just help you remember
It helps you feel it again

Not just remembering
Re-experiencing

And maybe that’s why we hold onto certain scents…
Because they take us back
to a time when things felt a little simpler

Teens notice when things feel harder than they should. Clarity gives them language — and power.
