Domino’s Pizza Day was a success! 🍕 Between Bowmanville and Newcastle locations, 870 pizzas were sold, raising $4,450 for the Bowmanville Hospital Foundation. The total was generously rounded up to $5,000, which will directly support the We Care, We Can Campaign for the redevelopment of Bowmanville Hospital.

Thank you to Zoltan, Nathan, their pizza chefs, and everyone who placed an order in support of our hospital. Together, we’re building a healthier tomorrow. 🤍 🏥

It was an exciting day at Bowmanville Hospital! 🏥 Members of the Bowmanville and Newcastle Lions Clubs got to visit the new laparoscopic surgical equipment they funded with support from Lions Clubs International Foundation (LCIF)!

Kelly Earl, Patient Care Manager, Surgery, shared that the equipment is already making a huge difference - helping the surgical team complete nearly twice as many procedures and improving efficiency for patients and staff.

Maple Grove United Church has made a $145,000 legacy gift to support the new build of Bowmanville Hospital. 🏥

With more than 150 years of service and fellowship in Bowmanville, the congregation wanted to continue making meaningful local impact and invest in the health of their neighbours. For many members, including seniors and families, the hospital’s redevelopment is especially significant as they anticipate easier access to care in the years ahead.

We are deeply grateful to Maple Grove United Church for this generous gift, which will help bring modern patient spaces, specialized care, and lifesaving services closer to home for generations of Clarington families.

Meet Teerth. 👋 When Teerth saw a chance to support his community, he jumped in. Over the past two years, he has turned his business, Restored Auto Detailing , into more than just a car care service. His annual car washes have become lively community gatherings, bringing neighbours, friends, and local supporters together to support the We Care, We Can campaign for the redeveloped Bowmanville Hospital.

Working alongside his dad, Pankaj Panchal (Unity in Diversity) , Teerth rallies his friends and peers to join him, showing how one idea can grow into a real impact. As a future medical student, he is driven not only by the campaign, but by a vision of giving back to the patients and community he hopes to serve in the future.

Young leaders like Teerth continue to impress and inspire, proving that age is no barrier to making a meaningful difference.

Celebrating a major milestone in the Bowmanville Hospital Redevelopment Project: Together with Infrastructure Ontario, we have officially issued the Request for Proposals (RFP).

The RFP marks the next step in selecting a team to design and build a modern hospital that will more than double in size and significantly expand access to high-quality care for the growing Clarington and Durham Region communities.

This is a significant advancement in our historic journey to reimagine health care close to home.

Once complete, the Bowmanville Hospital will help increase the number of beds and improve modern, patient-centred facilities.

Building a new hospital is a huge, multi-year project with lots of moving pieces - from early planning to finding the right design and construction partners. Over the past year, we have made some big strides!

🏥 August 2024 – Lakeridge Health, with Infrastructure Ontario, released a Request for Qualifications (RFQ). This marked the first major step to design and build the new Bowmanville Hospital.

🚁 September 2024 – Emergency care in Clarington got a boost with the official opening of the interim helipad, bringing life-saving care closer to home. It will remain in use until the permanent rooftop helipad is ready as part of the hospital redevelopment.

🖼️ October 2024 – The Foundation and Lakeridge Health welcomed residents to Community Visioning Sessions. Hearing from the community ensures the redeveloped hospital will reflect Clarington’s needs and support high-quality, patient-centered care.

We’re now looking forward to the next big milestone: issuing the Request for Proposals (RFP) to select the company that will design and build the redeveloped hospital. Exciting times are ahead, and we want you to be a part of them! Learn more, donate, and get involved at wecarewecan.ca.
