There are a lot of myths floating around about testicular cancer, and Muskoka Urology is here to debunk them all! 🕵
⛔️ Myth: Testicular cancer is common and affects older men.
✅ Fact: Testicular cancer is relatively rare, affecting about 1% of all men's cancers, and is most common in men between 15 and 40.
⛔️ Myth: Injuries to the testicles increase the risk of cancer.
✅ Fact: There's no evidence to suggest that injuries, sports-related strains, or tight clothing increase the risk of testicular cancer.
⛔️ Myth: Testicular cancer is hard to treat.
✅ Fact: Testicular cancer is highly curable, with a cure rate of 95% in Canada.
⛔️ Myth: Testicular cancer can only affect one testicle.
✅ Fact: While less common, testicular cancer can affect both testicles.
