Thank you to the Town of Bracebridge for their continued support of local healthcare through the Best Seat in the House and Buy a Bay programs. Every contribution makes a difference at the South Muskoka Memorial Hospital.

The Town of Bracebridge is pleased to announce the relaunch of the Best Seat in the House and Buy a Bay fundraising programs in a renewed partnership with the South Muskoka Hospital Foundation.

Yesterday, Bracebridge Mayor Rick Maloney presented Tammy Selkirk, Community Giving Coordinator, South Muskoka Hospital Foundation, with a cheque for $4,240.87 to officially kick off the next phase of the program.

Under the program, arena seats are available for a $500 donation and book bays for $250. Fifteen percent of the net proceeds from each donation supports the South Muskoka Hospital Foundation’s annual capital campaign, while the Town’s portion helps offset construction costs associated with the Muskoka Lumber Community Centre. All sponsorship purchases are eligible for a tax receipt.

A moment of recognition for an extraordinary act of generosity.

Bob Jacob has made a second $1 million gift to the South Muskoka Hospital Foundation, just six months after his first, becoming the largest living donor in our history.

Today, we were proud to honour Bob and his late wife, Lynn, at the hospital’s visitor entrance, a lasting reflection of their impact on care in our community. With more than $2.2 million in lifetime giving, Bob’s generosity will be felt by patients and families for years to come.

As Bob shared, giving through stocks can be a simple and impactful way to support the future of local healthcare.

Keeping our hospital strong.

We are so fortunate to live in Muskoka… a part of the world that offers opportunity and abundance that most can only dream about. Not only do we have access to some of the most beautiful scenery nature has to offer, but access to excellent health, close to home and cottage. This quality healthcare does not happen by chance. It only happens when we all work together. We must ensure that our nurses and physicians have the tools and equipment they need to continue delivering quality and professional care. Our hospital is strong and our future is bright. Let’s keep it that way by providing the much-needed funds to purchase up-to-date equipment and technology and support these professionals who are there to provide care when you need it most. Let’s keep our hospital strong. Together… we can make a real and lasting difference in this beautiful community where we live, work and play.
