Let’s get out, have some fun, and support the Muskoka Bears and the Hospital Foundation.

On January 17, the South Muskoka Hospital Foundation will be taking part in Community Night with the Muskoka Bears Jr C Hockey Club at the Muskoka Lumber Community Centre.

We’ll be set up before the 7 pm puck drop, welcoming fans and sharing how community support continues to strengthen care at our local hospital.

During December for every $5 spent at Muskoka Mocha, our customers were able to enter a draw for a Decorative Santa Boot with Music and Lights.

The draw was held December 19th and our winner was Ashley Clifford. Congratulations Ashley.

Muskoka Mocha is thankful for all of the people who patronize our coffee bar. You help us help the Hospital. Merry Christmas.

THERE IS STILL TIME TO DONATE AND ADD ANOTHER CHRISTMAS DOVE TO OUR MEMORY TREE.

Our Memory Tree is up in the front lobby and still has room for more Christmas Doves. Purchase your Dove with a $5.00 donation, personalize it with a dedication to someone special, and hang it on our Tree.

It's a wonderful way to remember someone special during the holiday season, and all donations will be used by the Auxiliary to enhance patient experience at our hospital.

The South Muskoka Memorial Hospital Auxiliary team gathered at the Bracebridge Legion Hall to celebrate the season and enjoy a delicious turkey dinner. Thank You to President-Elect Jim Lawrie, our MC for the night, who helped our special guest Santa distribute draw prizes and lead the carol singing.

Our team of 16 volunteers who man the front Information Desk at SMMH Monday to Friday, 9am to 4pm make a great first impression on people coming into the hospital. They are sincerely helpful and resourceful in answering any and all questions put to them. These volunteers see their main contribution is to make patients and visitors feel welcome at SMMH, and to help reduce the anxiety so many patients and visitors experience in coming to a hospital.

The Info Desk volunteers also help the Day Surgery volunteer as needed. They deliver and pick up mail to the inpatient units, and make themselves available to help with delivering flowers and kitchen trays, and to do repetitive tasks to help hospital staff. (Need envelops stuffed, they will help!).
