This past week, Volunteer Appreciation Week was celebrated at James Street Residence with a VIP Volunteer Tea. Mayor Rick Maloney was in attendance to honour their incredible resident volunteers, and also to honour a few of the wonderful volunteers of within the community.

South Muskoka Memorial Auxiliary Volunteers, Susan Antolick, Jim and Sandy Martin were recognized at the Tea for their service. They were accompanied by Karen Bellamy, Volunteer Co-ordinator and Pat Buckley, Executive Board Member.

Thank you to James Street Retirement Residence & Mayor Maloney for acknowledging all that our Auxiliary volunteers do!

The Board members of SMMH Auxiliary are proud to celebrate the achievements of our volunteers during National Volunteer Week and throughout the year.

To all our volunteers, thank you for your hard work, your belief in our mission and your dedication to improving South Muskoka Memorial Hospital for the communities we serve.

We are slowing rebuilding our volunteer force that was reduced during COVID. Thank you to our volunteers who are ambassadors for The Auxiliary, mentors for their colleagues and an inspiration to all who see them in action.

Thank you Bob.

A moment of recognition for an extraordinary act of generosity.

Bob Jacob has made a second $1 million gift to the South Muskoka Hospital Foundation, just six months after his first, becoming the largest living donor in our history.

Today, we were proud to honour Bob and his late wife, Lynn, at the hospital’s visitor entrance, a lasting reflection of their impact on care in our community. With more than $2.2 million in lifetime giving, Bob’s generosity will be felt by patients and families for years to come.

As Bob shared, giving through stocks can be a simple and impactful way to support the future of local healthcare.
