Such a fun day being back at Sheridan College. Those were some of the best days of my life, with some of the best people. Who are still my close friends today. Wishing Dr. McGonigal a very Happy and well deserved retirement. I have had the privilege of working alongside him for over 12 years. When I approached him about going out on my own, and starting a business he gladly and without hesitation said of “course I’ll still refer patients to you”. I am forever grateful for him entrusting me with his patients, and helping me build my business. It’s bitter sweet as I’m happy he’ll get to golf to his hearts content, but sad I won’t be able to see him on a weekly basis to annoy him with my, as he puts it “cheery attitude”. Cheers to your retirement!

Just wanted to highlight a difference in orthotics. My patient came to me and said he’s had these orthotics for a few years and they never really seem to work.
Let’s compare….
The first pic: current orthotics, please note the shape and how narrow it is. His feet are wide, and you can see the wear pattern where his arch is.

Second pic: what I dispensed. Wide orthotics that cover the shape of his foot as well as high borders to prevent blisters.

I am happy to report his feet have never felt better! Less back and knee pain 🙌

It has been 1 year and 7 months since I’ve been here. So happy to FINALLY be back at one of my original clinics. Humber has been my home since day one. Working alongside amazing Athletic Therapists like is what makes what I do so fun.

Here at Selamat Healthcare we also provide footwear modifications. Here is an example of someone who has a leg length difference. Normally I can add it to the orthotic, but when the difference is just too much to put on an orthotic I have to add it on to the shoe.

Thank you for providing my patient it’s a discreet and seamless footwear modification.

So happy to share this new clinic that I have the privilege to be a part of 🙌. Located in the heart of Downtown TO on Bay st. .sportmed is beautifully designed and stacked with amazing therapists! My favourite part of the day is spending time with . It has been years since we’ve seen each other, yet it seems like no time has past.

Thinking about those long days at Sheridan College as a student AT, to being able to work with each other in a clinic owned and operated by Jay really makes me believe that all that hard work pays off, and everything comes full circle

One of the best parts of what I do, is meeting really talented people from all walks of life. A few days ago I had the privilege of meeting with Anna Pierre, who is a children’s author. 📚

From printing to illustrations to publishing this book is fully Canadian. 🇨🇦🍁 local.
